As many of you have read, Trent Lott (R-Mississippi) will resign his Senate seat by the end of this year. Why would he do that? Any guesses? He was just reelected to another six year term in the most recent election.

As I’ve said before, I’m not in the outing business. I’m only willing to go on record here because reliable sources have told me that the truth should be out (so to speak) within the next, say, few months: Trent is bi/gay. He has been renting male playmates for years. Both Lott and Larry Craig were in the singing Senators group. Guess who else is in that chorus . . .

So why would being a polesmoker make Trent Lott unqualified as a Senator?

Wouldn't it actually be something good, the gays being represented?

There's a couple of fudgepackers in our parliament, and one or two gays at secretary level as well.

Trent is a married conservative, a proponent of family values (code for anti-gay), has a long record of supporting legislation that is antithetical to equality for gays and lesbians. And he has been having sex for years with male prostitutes . . . do the math. It’s not that hard to figure out why gays and lesbians do not support him.

Whether or not he is qualified to be a Senator is for his constituents to decide. But it is safe to say that he never would have made it to the Senate had anyone known about his secret double life. Escort Throws Cold Water On Lott Rumor

A San Antonio-based gay male escort categorically denied Monday that outgoing GOP Sen. Trent Lott had ever procured his services, putting to bed one of the more stunning rumors to emerge following Lott's announcement earlier in the day that he was leaving Congress.

The charge was first published by the Washington DC blog Big Head DC, which claimed to have emails where the escort, Benjamin Nicholas, allegedly playing coy, declined to go on the record because "Trent is going through his fair share of scrutiny right now and I don't want to add to it."

But in an email message, Nicholas himself said the item was false.

"There's nothing to be said, as Lott and I have no connection whatsoever," Nicholas wrote in an email to The Huffington Post. "How these 'quotes' have been fabricated are beyond me. The Senator is someone I have had no personal dealings with, ever."

In a subsequent posting on his own Web site, Nicholas wrote, "I have not, nor have I ever seen or had contact with Senator Trent Lott. It's as simple as that. It never happened."

Big Head DC's founder, Rob Capriccioso, is no stranger to allegations of sloppy sleuthing.

Earlier this month, Radar Magazine dropped Capriccioso as a freelancer after he reported that veteran newsman Sam Donaldson's phone number was in the records of infamous DC Madam Deborah Jean Palfrey.

What Capriccioso failed to note, Radar wrote in an online post, was that Palfrey insisted that the single telephone call to Donaldson had nothing to do with prostitution, and was simply a wrong number.

Capriccioso defended the Lott piece, telling The Huffington Post "Big Head DC stands by our quotes and item 100 per cent," but he declined to share any of the emails Nicholas allegedly sent to the blog.

The item, peppered with links to YouTube videos of Nicholas flexing for the camera, quickly made the rounds of email inboxes inside the Beltway and beyond. It was even picked up by the wildly popular celebrity gossip site PerezHilton.com.

"The boy happens to be real, and his "stage name" is Benjamin Nicholas. One of the politicos Big Head DC has learned he's alleged to have been involved with is the married Sen. Trent Lott," read the original post on Big Head DC.

Nicholas later said the quotes attributed to him in the Big Head DC item were "falsely pieced-together" to "sensationalize a completely fabricated scoop."

yeah, he wouldnt do it.

sounds like they're covering this story very quickly. If it's not true, it would be interesting to hear why he's retiring so soon. I mean, he is shortchanging his consitituents by 5 years without giving a reason? He was just elected last year.

The trend says this is very possible, we'll see if anything else surfaces. Odd timing for this which often translates to something going on, possibly an extortion attempt... maybe nothing at all.

WHen he is okay with this kinda behavior, It means that

1) he endorses hypocracy
2) he has low standards for someone he gives tax dollars to
3) he doesn't believe America deserves honest and honorable leaders

I never buy into this whole idea that politicians have principles. These "self-haters" are simply using gay and lesbian rights as leverage against the left - they probably don't believe in their own anti-gay agenda.

Its amazing...u stir this shit up like we have to accept getting the fucking gay agenda forced down our throats or have to indeed "like" gays. Myabe Lott is gay, but his supporters and those who voted for him might not and he has to support their positions when he's in the Capital. I'm sure i could come up with a list of gay and pedo dems...who cares. Not everybody is gay and or wants to be. Nor should this be a major issue. Ur gay..u like guys good for u..get over it. Stopping wasting time on this issue. We have bigger concerns in this country. If u were in iran they'd be stringing u up. Stop whining.
