Just finished calves/forearms workout
« on: December 05, 2007, 03:12:12 PM »
2 days ago i did 3 working sets squads, after that 2 working sets deadlifts, and then did 3 working sets incline benchpress. And to my surprise, i could do some heavy weight on the incline benchpress. It was much easier then the last time when i do the benchpress from the start. You would think that you re tired after some high reps squads, to do benchpress. But it turned out to be much easier to press. Ever expirienced anything like that?

I try to bring up calves and fore-arms, i used to train calves in the gym and they neer seem to grow, but after 3 months of dictionary raises im starting to get some new muscles on the calves and vascularity that i never had. For the fore-arms i did 100 reps with 6 sets. With barbell reverse gripp curls. I try to go for the burn, thats another bodypart that is a hardgainer for me. Do you think that the calves and the forearms are the same muscle type? Or is it better to hit the forearms heavy?

I train hard each workout, been training for years and years now. My main thing is that im not motivated toeat right. My typical day eating-regimen is like this. I never have a breakfast, dring a lot of coffee, then after 5 hours i eat a meal like 2 zinger burgers, end of the day i eat some fruit and a proteinshake. How come some guys like mesmorph78 can get away with it and look good. Is that just genetics?

It's a known phenomenon. The squats sort of "prime" the nervous system. One way to try this out is test grip strength before and after a set of heavy squats. This is even more understandable since you're a newbie and your nervous system isn't that efficient yet.

I look like a newbie, thats a difference. Its just that i never did bench after squats.
