E - I almost get this impression that you think strength doesn't matter. Muscle SIZE obviously isn't helpful in a fight, but sheer brute strength and good cardio is very helpful. Also, he is not just some internet tough guy, but someone who has worked in security for years and gotten into many bar fights and had serious strength (405 for 17 for deadlift).
For years I thought that karate was a useful skill until I found it was literally the least successful skill in the UFC and that grapplers had the greatest success.
Put another way: if both parties have equal skill, the stronger one will win, if both are equally strong, the more skilled one will win. If one is skilled, but the other is strong and in great shape, then it's not so simple to determine who will win. Lots of people have fighting skills but are fat or otherwise out of shape and almost useless because of that (I'm not saying the average MMA guy falls into this category).
