There are two different types: VFR (Visual Flight Rating) and IFR (Instrument Flight Rating). VFR allows you ONLY to fly in clear whether that does not require complete reliance on instruments. IFR allows you to fly anytime.

It all really depends on time management and how fast you can learn. In addition to the written tests, you need approx. 60 to 80 hours of flight time and that typically costs around $200 an hour. So maybe 6 months to a year.

Hope that helps.

I would love to become a pilot. If I was able to choose I would like to become a helicopter pilot first.

Someday  :)

Those cost A LOT more per hour.

Best thing to do is go down to the airport and make friends with a pilot that has a helicopter ;)

You should post the "afterparty" pictures of that particular incident... Let's say Advil wouldnt have done much of a difference anymore./

Oh I have seen it ;)

There are actually a couple of people who filmed it from different areas.... one is were the Mig is just woooshing by him taking everybody right beside him and mangle them up.

Afterparty pictures are messy as shit.

Pilot survived, they run past him with the camera rolling, he was busy to look like nothing has happend collecting his parachute... some guy walks past and taps his shoulder like: Well done Captain smartboy ::)
I think the Pilot was surprised they did not lynch him right there.

My ex was a recreational pilot (IFR).  He owned two airplanes; the one I flew and flew in with him most frequently was the Mooney.  I never got an official flight rating, but he taught me how to use the radio and land the plane if in case anything happened to him in flight (passed out, heart attack, etc.)  If you are serious about flying you need a flight mentor.  You also need to find an (online) community.  You might want to join AOPA.

General aviation is always more fun than using traditional terminals.  :D

I have heard of people doing it on a commercial flight, but I honestly don't think I'd have the balls to do that.  Under the right circumstances, I can be an "in your face" fag but not even I would be that public; I think I'm too modest.

The only way I can see someone doing it is on a very empty flight in the back of the plane, under a big blanket, when no one else is around.  The lavatory is way too small for two people.  :-[

Yes i do, also have Commercial Pilot License (frozen ATPL), instrument-, and multiengine rating. Started flying in an airline about 2 months ago :)

Oh, and took me about 2.5 years to get it, cost 10 000 euros...
