The US and the Brits have always set standards for civility and should continue to lead the way, once we stop we become a shit hole. The fact that we can extend compassion to other species is a testiment to our superiority and advanced civilization.

I agree with your view 100%, but My problem is, you have child molesters outthere that would get a year in jail and you're condemning a dude for up 5 months in jail. Killing animals are wrong, but a child molester shouldn't get less sentence than a guy who kill a dog or two
