Author Topic: Why did DENNIS JAMES leave Thailand???? (Read 13959 times)

I pretty sure even the Pharmacies in Thailand aren't technically allowed to sell steroids without a Rx. I could be wrong so someone who knows better can clarify.

I remember a few years ago there was a raid there on some UG steroid operation.

Im pretty sure that script drugs are all legal because the government has allowed the pharmacy's to sell them due to the poverty and no access to doctors for most people. They are able to walk in say how they feel and buy some drugs for symptoms without actually seeking medical treatment from a physician.

All other rec drugs like marijuana and X are illegal and carry heavy consequences especially to those dealing. There are signs in customs explaining mandatory life/death sentence for anyone smuggling. Dealing drugs is taken very seriously there.

yes steriods are legal. but protein and other supplements are near impossible to get over there..the goverment is very strict on supplements yet anyone can buy pain killer, steriods ect over the counter

on the X thing i read that dennis recieved 17 x pills but you are only aloud 15 or something by thai laws..so the goverment took his house..

I know steroids can be bought OTC. I'm curious about the legality. I mean prostitution is not legal either over there

steriods are totally legal over there to purchase from the pharmacy. you just can't sell them

There was a GNC in "Tops" supermarket in Pattaya, also there was a supplement shop accross the way from Tonys Gym, so sorry to tell you, but you must have your info mixed up. Most of the supplements I saw were Australian too.

I could be wrong, but I was told that a special licence was required for importing supplements. That was 4 years ago though, things may have changed. I normally take my own supplements with me, but I chose not to when I headed for Thailand as I didnt want to take any chances.. a kilo of pure Glutamine and Creatine would definately be hard to explain.

I just returned from 2 weeks in Pattaya, and there's juiced guys everywhere, the majority being Europeans. I trained at Tonys Gym which is the only one I went to, there's plenty others that I didnt look at but Tonys was great.

I didnt investigate the gear side of things, as I havent ventured into the realm of chemical warfare, however one guy introduced himself and said he owns a pharmacy and said he can get anything.

If it werent for the prostitution the Thai economy would probably collapse.

Pattaya has hordes of farmers daughters that have been sent from Isan to Pattaya to work, because the rice crops didnt pull through.

thats what i meant to say. james in an interview said that the goverment gave him a hard time about getting his protein ect from his sponsors from the usa...

From what I understand you can buy whatever you want over the counter (gear). But you run into problems when you start selling it to other countries & such (i.e. send the gear overseas).

Exctasy is not legal in any quantity here, 15 or 17 - it's still illegal. What changes with qty is that you move from being a user to a distributor in the eyes of the law.

It is technically illegal to buy steroids over the counter. Nobody seems to give a shit though. The law here doesn't work in quite the same way as other countries so the whole legal/illegal thing isn't as black & white as it would be in the US/UK.

You cannot buy codeine here, and they are a lot stricter on drugs such as Valium & Xanax, a few years ago the Thai teens discovered the joys of Xanax & alchohol and that put paid to the selling of tranqs in most pharmacies.

As for Dennis, who knows ? He got busted by the DEA who will bust anyone, anywhere that is sending gear back to the US. They don't have duristiction - but that's another grey area. Amongst the goodies he had, there was supposedly some ecstacy. It is very likely that Dennis paid 'bail', got his passport & fucked off just as quickly as possible. That's the way these things tend to happen here.

Yes, that was my understanding, that steroids weren't technically legal.

I have a few friends who visited recently and they didn't have any problems buying Xanax and Valium.
