Quag, many blacks are where they are due to affirmative action. They've stolen chances from whites and asians(and by asians I mean chinks and south asians). Getting rid of affirmative action would diminish the black populus in academic institutions; but no one dare do it due to the backlash.
As to my cousin, he's a med student. Not that close to him, but I do take pride in that a relative of mine reached so high. The guy's a bit weird, not blessed with great brain power as you'd expect, but his work ethic is insane and the manner in which he was raised is far better than the norm. Good for him, but can't say I like him too much.
