As a little boy, I remember thinking how lame the presents the wise men gave to Jesus were. No Transformers? No Game Boy? Heck, not even Ninja Turtles pajamas? (I know, I've dated myself with these references...) They may have been wise men, but they certainly weren't smart shoppers!
Fast forward to today: an Australian store aired this commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eERQx-KqMwAnd here's a newspaper article with the details
http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0,22606,22948534-5006301,00.htmlI chuckled a bit when I saw it, and even though some may not find it funny, I fail to see why they should muster such "outrage" over it. Surely, there are more pressing issues for the clergy to be up in arms about, like the AIDS epidemic, famine, and genocide in Africa, or (in the case of the Catholic archbishop) the shameful cover-up of child-rapists by his church's hierarchy?

Or is it fashionable now for religious people to play the victim at the slightest inconvenience? Did the Christians take a lesson from the perpetually-outraged Muslims? (See: Cartoons, Danish)
So what do you think? Offensive or not?
