In California they having fucking wait lists for people wanting to become garbagemen. They make good money, plus full medical and retirement (2.7% at 55 more than likely) He's set for life.

I used to do odd jobs when I was in school - delivering pizza.  At the time it paid more than most unskilled jobs when you factored in tips...but even though the money was okay at the time I always felt embarassed doing it--going up to people's houses giving them a few pizzas, putting my hand out for a tip, etc.  I'd feel the same if I was a garbage man even if it paid okay, but that's not a shot at chaos--to each their own.  At the same time sometimes now i miss the lack of stress I used to have as a pizza delivery guy, even though it pays much less.
