Ultimately, there is no answer to the question, "who is or was the best".  Everybody has an opinion and you know what is said about opinions.  I think that all things considered, in his time, Flex Wheeler had everything it takes to have been the best and may very well have been.  At times he was, but was not rewarded for it.  Who can deny that when he was on, he was remarkable.......even unbelievable.  He may not have had that thick waisted massiveness of some, but his symetry and mass combined with his full muscle bellys and his small joints, and small waist, presented a physic that was truly amazing.   No I am not gay or a Flex "guy", it's just my opinion.

i've been saying this for ages now, i truley believe that flex should have won in 98, 99 and 2000 with ronnie in second, he looked better and more pleasing to the eye (more like a bber should).
then in 2001 jay cutler should have won NOT RONNIE, and he would have keept it in 2002, but lost it in 2003 (ronnie did look pretty good that year, massive with good conditioning.) He should have won it again in 2004 but lost it again to jay in 2005 and so on. If that happened ronnie would have only be left with 2 MR O's (which he rightfully deserved).

All the coleman nuthuggers can come back with he was drier, had better legs, thicker and more defined from the back etc. etc. etc.

But Flex just "looked better" way more symmetrical, waist looks like its 28 or 30", absolutely NO GUT, abs are insane and is just very pleasing to the eye.

Can't help but wonder if he'd won for the next 3 or 4 years if people like Dex, Vic would be getting the nod instead of that bloated mess of bulk with a 45+ inch waist that is our current Mr. O

Its stating facts , the fact is Flex Wheeler is a man who was very capable of beating Ronnie Coleman he did it eight times previously and the second quote is from Flex himself stating the obvious if he was in shape he would have been 1998 Mr Olympia but he's his own biggest enemy .

no he wasn't because the ronnie coleman that flex beat 8 times previously looked nothing like ronnie did in either 98 or 99

it wasn't close either contest. the scorecards in 98 on paper say they were close, but thats because ronnie was overlooked in the first round. hell, he wasn't even in the first callout, which was the first time anyone won the O. who was not called out first in many many years

Dexter destroyed everyone in the 2004 Olympia I think. Ronnie got too big and lost his waist and Jay was bigger but the condition wasn't on point.
