Well, at the age of 30yrs old, Mariusz is now a legend in the World Strongest Man competition. I think he's on his way to win two or 3 more titles. it's hard to argue over who's strong enough to take this guy down. With four WSM titles, he's tied with two former WSM. I predicted Mariusz will win the 2008 WSM.

WSM was never clean. I just would like to see more American athlete winning this event more often. Last year Phil Pfister was the first american since Bill Kazmaier in 1982 to win the WSM. that's 24yrs ago. There must be a Reason why American athlete don't do well at all in this sport

They make way more than bodybuilders, the organization has contract with ESPN, and that's a lot of exposure for the sport. It's a whole new sport for any bodybuilder who wants to consider WSM, and this sport is not for Short guys, considering the average bodybuilder is 5'7'. short ass bodybuilders would do very poorly in World strongest man competition

WRONG.  A good friend of mine competed at the WSM in anaheim and he doesnt make shit from doing that stuff.

how far did he get in the contest and how many years has he been competing in WSM. A guy like Mariusz who got contract and other ventures is doing good for himself.

I was assuming that he would take time and train/prep for the contest 

by going this route he doesn't have to diet down anymore just drop some weight and increase his functional speed/strength

i think i read in flex marius eats like 6 snickers a day, and wakes up in the middle of the night to eat a couple...i'm guessing he probably has blood sugar/insulin issues

Like in most sports you have to be one of the top guys or at least win an event to get any money.  Sorry about your friend

First place in the WSM is usually around $40k. Nothing when you factor in all the gear needed.

The Arnold Classic pays a lot more and thats why you see guys like Savickas there. Mariusz gets his ass handed to him on a regular basis at the AC.

I know of quite a few guys who are Pro Strongmen for a living, but its not a ton of money.

Put Mariusz in the IFSA and see where he places, hahaha!
