You need to be no older than 28,
Are you sure about that? A guy I know just rejoined and must be at least 40 by now.
I think it might even be a little older than 40.
It's 42 for the army. I don't know if it's less for the Marines. I don't think I would have to go to bootcamp.
Sounds right. I almost went back in a couple years ago, but the family used WMDs to keep me out (tears, crying, etc.).Boot Camp sounds like summer camp now anyway.
They did actually have some of those rules back then. It didn't stop them from doing any of those things. Like they couldn't hit you, but haha, right... It was just followed with and "oops" and an asschewing for getting in the way. I doubt much has changed in reality. Even if a recruit complains, haha, I doubt that will go over very well at all. Best to keep your mouth shut.
I don't know man. The Marine I talked to said DIs were getting busted. Coming in a SGT and leaving a corporal.
I was talking to a Marine last week who just finished DI school. They are turning Boot Camp into a boy scout camp. Among other things, they're not allowed to curse at the recruits, cannot touch them, have to maintain some distance from them, cannot point in their faces, cannot call them names, and the recruits are interviewed at least once during Boot Camp so they can snitch on DI's who break the rules. Sounds like summer camp.
The "Liberalz" have won. Sparta is dead. Welcome to Athens
