Anyone think that Hidetada Yamagishi's arrest may have played a part in cancellation of this show? (Like Lee Priest and the Australian show, the frontrunner is usually a native son.) Or was the competition purse just too ambitious for a first year show in an untested market?

Japan Pro show removed from 2008 schedule

The Japan Pro show scheduled to take place on October 12-13, 2008 in Tokyo, Japan has been removed from the pro schedule. The official web site of the IFBB (ifbbpro.com) has removed the event from the 2008 schedule. There has been no official word on why it has been removed but we are looking into it.

I don't think it's a coincidence. This could have been the straw that broke the camel's back. Though this time we are certain that Lee Priest (pictured below) had nothing to do with it.

Sad state of affairs if the IFBB has to cancel a Japan show because a one of their own is in jail. What, does the IFBB world in Japan revolve around Hide?

I wonder if Hide will be called upon to "apologize" in the traditional manner for bringing such dishonor on his people?

I didn't even know that my show was cancelled.

According to my website it is on March 8th.

Thats a shame. Japan and some other Asian countries looks like they could be a big market for the IFBB. The Japan sounded like a pretty big show, good prize money too i believe.

Didn't say that the Australian show was cancelled...only the Japan Pro show. I was noting that Lee Priest is always a frontrunner in the Australian show, before he even sets foot on the stage, just because he is Australian, just as Hide would be the frontrunner in the Japan Pro if it was happening, because he is Japanese.
