Gays often affiliate with the "Greek Ideal" Groink. They like "it"...

How have you been man? ;D

Really? Well they sure as hell like the IFBB drug addicts and second raters who couldn't quite make the cut.. Gay4pay is very much a revenue stream for today's musclemen and they aren't after no Greek ideal..

Maybe they just like looking at men in tiny little trunks, oiled up and tanned..posing to wolf whistles and cheers.

This whole 'sport' is reliant on gays.

It doesn't matter how big they were it only matters how much development detail they had and if they were in proportion with his quads and judging by this picture I'm not sure his calves are bigger than some members on this site

Looking at those pics, there's no way Steeve Reeves had a 52 inch chest and 29in waist - lying about your measurements was obviously the thing to do back in the 1950's - as well as every other year for that matter.

I think long torsos are more desired by the public. Dunno if that's relevant to the discussion or not.

No man wishes to be stocky and have equal proportions in regards to everything. Most people would rather be tall, have a long torso with a ripped stomach and big chest, with decent shoulders and back.

His lowerback is kinda weak too. I don't think for a second that he doesn't do deadlifts, but maybe that's just how he's built. Some people always have weak calves; Ronnie being a prime example. Calves can be brought up though, as Sean Ray improved his calves throughout the 90's.

it said in MD he does deadlifts towards the end of his workout...only does between 225-315 lbs though, i think he may need to work closer to the 405-495 range to give his back the thickness it needs

Still not convinced - that is not a 52in chest and certainly not a 29in waist.

Don't seem like particularly outrageous stats give the size of his chest, lats and ribcage.

Did Reeves claim to have these stats all his life or are they at his biggest/best shape?

Well ND I don't see anything in the pics to make me think that those stats are false.

Ultimately it doesn't matter what his measurements are..the physique looks superb

In one of the muscletech dvd's Cormier says his chest is 52 inches. Is Reeves that big?

Most of these bodybuilders today are loaded with drugs and look terrible.  I give them credit because not many can go day by day doing the same they do but its looking worse and worse every year.  It doesn't even look real anymore.  I think that the ideal build would be something around Arnold, Bolo Yeung, Van Damme or Dolph Lundgren.  Any of those classic bodybuilders too.  I would like to have a build like Dolph or Van Damme.

Arnold and Coleman both had 58 inch chests (they say). Katz was 60.

I don't see why it's not possible for them both to have 52 inch chests. Cormier's measurement is smaller than many much older bodybuilders.

Maybe Reeves added an inch or two to his stats but guys like Park had 50+ chests back in the day too. I don't think 52 inch chest and a 29 inch waist are stats that instantly scream 'bullshit'.

Whatever it was his chest, lats and shoulders were very big and tapered down to a tiny waist..that's evident.

Here's an interview with Reg Park. 52 inch chest. It's Cormier's problem.

Is it written down in some old texts or based on statues, art, etc?
