GSP vs. Anderson Silva?
« on: January 03, 2008, 08:23:15 AM »
Lets assume Silva beats Henderson. Is there really anyone in either division that would make a better matchup than those two meeting at a catchweight? I think Silva would kill him personally, but it might be a good fight.

If they stayed on their feet, I think Silva would beat down GSP.  On the ground GSP would have a fighting chance...

Silva is four inches taller .
He would probably win, he has more weapons too.

But GSP is still improving so who knows in a couple of years....

Andersen did almost lose to a both physically and mentally weakened Travis Lutter.  Had Travis not struggled to make weight and then dealt with the repercussions of not making weight for a championship fight, I think would have been able to end Andersen.  It's really weird how a 3rd tier fighter like Travis nearly finished Andersen, yet Franklin can't even give him a challenge.

His BJJ isn't third tier and that's what he used to almost finish Silva. Unlike Franklin, Lutter had no illusions that he could stand with Silva.

Anderson would own GSP badly.  The only thing GSP is better than Anderson in is wrestling.  Bad matchup for GSP.  I think Hendo will beat Anderson soon.

What are you talking about.  Lutter took him down at will.  The only reason he lost was because he completly gassed out.  Had he been stronger for that fight, he would have ended it when he got the full mount and started showering Anderson with punches...

If Silva doesn't absolutely destroy an opponent and make him look like a pussy he "almost lost"  but if the other Pride guys lose then they were past their prime(even though they were 7 years younger than their opponent), you guys make up your damn minds!

I was saying he got the mount in the first couple of minutes. And as a pro he should have made weight, the end result lutter got destroyed at his own game.

And i never said i was an mma expert, the only one lying about that is you stuper mod.
