If I'm not mistaken, that is a photo by the hubble telescope of a patch of sky 1/10th the size of the full moon. There are about 10,000 galaxies that patch of sky. Each galaxy probably has 500 million stars in it.

Big Bang explains a lot. But there had to be someone/something with the power and brilliance and ability to create the big bang.

Bible is great for teaching people how to live and that there is a higher power. But to believe it word-for-word is something that even most preachers don't do - they accept the message and understand that some of it was written to teach lessons and obviously isn't scientifically correct.

Of course this creator would have to be even more complex in order to create something that complex, so he too must also have a creator, since that level of complexity couldn't possibly exist without one.

Personally I believe in 16 creators.

I don't believe the Big bang theories, there has to be an originator, science can come up with alot of "theories" but there has to be an originator.....and they cannot explain that.

you have to remember that our science is so immature it's silly. 400 years ago, we thought the sun revolved around the Earth. Imagine what we'll understand about matter and energy and travel in 1000 years. We've had computers for 60 years and they control a world network. Give them 600 years, see what they're capable of.

Point is, you shouldn't dismiss the big bang theory. It's very possible and our most likely start by all accounts. God might start a new one every morning in a different place.

Rather than using logic and science to determine what is MOST LIKELY to have happened while simultaneously acknowledging that it is simply a theory which may later be tweaked, Christians do the next best thing that any scientific or rational minded person would do - make shit up.

No....making shit up is thinking that "scientists" can figure out the creation (or evolution if you believe in that sort of thing

) of the Universe in about a hundred years. They can't find a cure for cancer or aids, but they sure know how the Universe was created.....there was even one retard that said it's been figured out...."case closed"!!

another perspective...

you can bet everyone who studied and researched over the centuries to bring us the knowledge and technology (which allows us to know what stars are and see them from so far away) took the studies of their lives pretty seriously.

someone else might come along in the future who discovers something (maybe, the secret to eternal or extremely long life) that if you had now would change your perspective on the value of your current existence.

Science will always provide more accurate descriptions of phenomena, and more accurate explanation of causal factors than "making shit up" will ever give ya. And face it: The bible = making shit up.

Science will always be more trustworthy than some man made horsecrap, because science actually demands critical thinking.

The only way to buy the religious dogma and the explanations it provides is to avoid all forms of ciritical thinking.

Yeah, see...the problem with that is there is more proof from legit archeological findings (yes, by secular archeologists) that match the books of the Bible.....science can't say that.
