Ok, so maybe it is mindless entertainment. I watched it because it was fun to watch various Gladiators and competitors that we know from our industry. The editing wasn't as good as it was supposed to be, as we saw by the commentaries, and Tanji taking out a competitor right away and bringing in Venus as the new competitor was strange, since they didnt even put her name out there. Venus Ramous, who won her competition yesterday and advanced, is an NPC Fitness competitor here from Southern California, most recently at the NPC Los Angeles show, and she was at the NPC Nationals. She is a doctor too, I think 42 years old.
The premier of the American Gladiators drew a 6.7/10 rating, which had more viewers and better demo numbers than other network programs. Obviously, tonights numbers will go down due to the BCS championship game, but everything depends on numbers.
