Pro Bodybuilding Retirement?
« on: January 11, 2008, 04:59:30 PM »
What will guys do when they deflate and can't guest pose, and place in shows? Guys like Cormier?

What will they do to live comfortably into their 60-90's? 9-5 it?

This is what I see  :(

they get full retirement packages.  It's not a ton, something like $100k a year plus health coverage.  But it's enough to live a good life after paying your dues as a pro.

You talking about Cormier? Oh, bro... he has made some serious money trough his career so I wouldn't worry how he can live comfortably rest of his life. His life to you sucks - nothing but playing video games at maxmuscle and hanging around, eating at firehouse, driving with pimped cars, hanging at night clubs and training at golds - that's something what you call poor rest of his life?
I'm sure you don't have to worry about these top pros and about how they will survive after bb career...

I imagine them being herded with cattle prods toward a slaughterhouse.

This image is always in my head because really huge bodybuilders up close (Dorian Yates immediately comes to mind) remind me of livestock.

So when was the last time you saw Dorian Yates "up close"?

They could all end up personal trainers, dieticians, porn stars, bouncers, or mooch on gorgeous, female fitness/figure competitors or strippers!
