They're going to recount the New Hampshire Votes!
« on: January 11, 2008, 05:28:09 PM »
In last week's democratic primary-
81% of ballots were counted on an optical scanner (machine).  19% by hand.

Hilary
machine - 40% of the vote.
hand-counted- 35% of the vote.

Obama
machine - 36% of the vote.
hand counted - 39% of the vote.

Obama won everywhere that votes were handcounted, which perfectly matched weekly, entrance, and exit polls.  Hliary won where they used machines.  That is statistically odd, and fishy to many.

New Hampshire has agreed to a recount!  They're going to check the ballots and see if the paper backups match the optical results!

30 states currently keep paper backups of all electronic voting.  These places CAN be checked.  More might move to a backup system in the next year as well.

Remember in Ohio, in 2004, Kerry won all the exit polls, there was a power outage for 2 hours as votes closed, and when the power came back on, Bush had a huge lead and the win.  There were paper backups there too - but Bush's team sued to prevent a recount, and the republican state legisture granted it.  Those votes still haven't been counted, and there is only a statistical chance of 1 in 50,000 that Bush actually got more votes in Ohio.

Exit polls have been flawless throughout history.  Until e-voting came along.  And people are suing to prevent elections from being stolen now.  It's a good thing.  We all want our vote to count.

anything's possible.  It looks like it'll be two polarizing candidates, Huckabee and HIlary.  Both are pretty extreme.  Mike Bloomberg is quietly setting up camp in all 50 states, doing polls and paperwork... he might be a moderate alternative if voters on both sides aren't happy with the options.  hilary is shrill and loves the war, has a shady past, and many dems don't like her.  huck is a religious extremist who has said things about women not deserving same rights as men.

neither option is all that great. (unless obama gets in - he'd win in a national landslide IMO)

Bloomberg is an ass, a very crafty little fellow who avoids cameras at all costs because he has no charisma. He does everything quietly and backhanded. The country will be so much more commercialized, sanitized and fanchised, just like what he did to New York City. He took the heart out of the city while no one was looking.

I like how everyone just autoblamed the pollsters.  guys like zogby went on The Daily Show and got skewered not to mention every other media news outlet blaming them.  The week before Zobgy was praised, now it's his bad.  This should have been an instant indicator of possible fraud but NOBODY wanted to go there!

yeah, i miust admit, the liberal fvcking mainstream media is bending over backwards to protect hilary here.

MSNBC spent the next day talking about 'how were we so wrong' after spending all day writing off hilary.

Today they've been blaming pollsters nonstop.  Over-eager college kids, they said.

Yesterday, Olbermann put Rush on his worst persons list... for talking about a possible case of fraud in NH...

and today?  lo and behold, olbermann had to swallow his tongue and report on the inconsistencies and talk about the upcoming recount.

According to whom ??

NBC news reported on it.  Conducted by numerous watchdog groups in conjunction with the state of NH.  These numbers are correct - no one is dusputing them.  What's being disputed is, "Why did the electronic results say something different from everything else that day"?

Since the electronic results can be manipulated instantly and the others are very hard (if not impossible) to alter, this anomaly has to be looked at.

It'd be such funny irony if the DEMS were caught cheating.  Would the repubs shout for the very recount they SUED TO PREVENT in 2004?  Will Hilary steal the white house- and suddenly joelocal and everyone else will become CTers for the next 4 years? haha

Since the 1990's and 2000 exit polls have become less usefull and are deemed a harmful tool for polling, some study was published on the matter in 2000 after Bush won.

In the 90's exit polls would always give dems a overabundant lead. Some tools become adapt to their measures.

Who's paying for this re-count?

It took me 2 second s to find this information, if more people took the time to investigate things themselves the world wouldnt be so fucking stupid when it comes to other things like war and the economy.

Candidates who lose by 3 percentage or less are entitled to a recount for a $2,000 fee. Candidates who lose by more must pay for the full cost. Kucinich's campaign said it was sending the $2,000 fee to start the recount.

A $2,000 fee?

Richardson beat him by 9k + votes, what is there to recount?
