Just do what will maximize your chances of getting your money back. Get with some guys and visit him at home and take his car or something, and force him to sell his possessions until he has paid you back.

You could torture him or kill him, but that would not get you your money back.

And given that this = true, why in gods name did you lend him that kind of money in the first place? :o

I agree w/Debussy in not touching his family.  They aren't responsible for his actions.

Meanwhile, perhaps $12,000.00 is worth it for him no longer being in your life?

Well for 20% I will get it for you.  That is what I used to charge anyway.  A couple things though.  If he doesn't have the money or anything worth that amount which is tangible then really your only recourse is $12,000 plus interest in pain.  For that I used to get bout 30 to 40% of the amount owed.  In the second scenario I get paid up front.  The first scenario I don't get paid till I collect.  I do get all my expense paid.  Now that is what most guys would charge that would be able to get your money.  You can always go to court but you still will have to collect.  $12,000 is not even close enough to involved family.  Kids are never an option.  Even wife or other family members don't deserve to get pain because the old man fucked up.  What does he owe you money for.

Your prices are way too high, some are much cheaper and more efficient, I'm sure. ;)
