seriously i own a 2007 f-350 harley truck,and a 2008 chevy 1500 "texas edition".if you are going to tow with it and work it get the ford.if you just want something to replace a car get the chevy.

You can't compare a 1 ton to a half ton dummy! The 1 ton chevy is a better truck than your F350. The engine and tranny (Alison) are better and the interior on the new GM's is light years ahead of any other truck mfg. The interior on the new SD's looks hideous.

agree to disagree, you are right you cannot compare a one ton to a half ton, but that isn't what i was doing. the new chevys are def nice but so are the new super dutys, there is no turbo lag on the new sd and it is super quiet very nice truck.

The Tundra is a very comfortable vehicle, and the Silverado is sexy, but at the end of the day, Ford wins, hands down.

If budget is an issue, go for the Ram (Big Horn) - you can get that bitch fully loaded with 4WD for about 25K.

I'm a GM guy, but I've heard the 5.4L is a turd with horrible throttle response. The Tundra has frame flex issues as well as the tailgate not being able to support more than 200lbs. The Silverado is clearly the most refined and well built truck currently on the market.

i am not comparing the two,i am just stating my opinion based on any size engine or build.

ford=work truck

chevy=very comfortable un-truck like ride

toyota=better than the rest if you can get past the looks of the new tundra(i couldnt)

Do you guys actually use the trucks abilities (over regular cars)

This is not a pollution question by the way.

Some guys are so fat they won't fit into a regular car.

haha, I've seen those guys.

Yes I do use the capabilities of a truck, but not that often, 1-2 a month. Im 6'2" and I went from a little v-6 mustang to the f-150 mainly because of the size and because I didn't like the car-like ride of SUV's I'd had in the past. Even if I'm not using the bed every day, its still nice to be able to tow a boat or jetski when needed in the summer, or not worrying about finding someone to call with a truck when I go to home depot.

I love playing in the snow, but have to travel a little to get to it.  I need my 4-wheel-drive available whenever I get above 4000 feet.

Below that level, I have it because cool chicks love guys with nice trucks.   ;)

I have an '04 Dodge Hemi Ram, Quad Cab.  Works fine for me.

But, if you want a truck, might as well get a REAL truck, not like the pansy ones shown in this thread.

I am a fan of the older trucks. Early 80's just sold my baby. 82 F-250 3/4 ton. This mother fucker was geared low and would pull your house off the foundation and climb any hill. Sold the thing for something with more room for a carseat.  SO I went with the Caddy and FUCKING LOVE IT!

I still miss seeing my truck in the driveway but the damn thing was a gas hog.
