Not that many of you are not aware of this:
Myself and about twelve of the top judges from the eastern seaboard were asked by a guy named Lou (no last name necessary). to judge this show.
It was a huge show. Excellent, 100+ competitors.
After a long and exhaustive prejudging, we had the task of scoring in front of us.
"Lou" approached us and said:
"look, I know youse guys are among the best and blah blah blah...but...when the winners come out at nite...you will likely see the guy you had in first...well...he may be 5th.
"You see, we want who is most marketable, not who you think is the best."
Well, upon hearing that...we all left for home. Did not even stay for the night show.
I am sure this is around the year Steve Reeves died.
The show was held on Wall Street in NY.
