anxiety and latest doc visit
« on: January 25, 2008, 03:54:16 PM »
jsut went back to the doc again for my sleeplessness, i have been on rozeram wich works ok... but lately as i sated before my mind racing and elevated heartbeat when im laying down for bed has been killing me..... 4 hrs sleep a night with a rugged construction job is not good.

So this time the doctor took blood to do an exectuive blood panel. ill get the results for that monday, he took an ekg of my heart b/c my family has heart issues in past. he also stated he thinks my anxiety might b from hyperthyroidism and thats why im gettin so stimulated at night when i should b dead tired.... not sure about that but we will see with the test results

he also has put me on nadolol a beta blocker that drops my blood pressure and heart rate. he doesed me out for a childrens dose and told me to take it around 4pm so the full effects hit me at night. he told me this would help slow my heart rate and keep me more calm so i can sleep. at first i thought hte guy was crazy, but after lots of reading up online it appears this drug is used for hypertension and anxiety

i took it with the rozerm last night and did sleep pretty good.

today i do feel a little weak and dizzy like he saidi would for first 2 days, but then everything should go back to normal

anyone else have any expierence with this? and thouts about this wiht aas use?

what is the chemical compound of the beta blocker?  I have a prescription from my doc for a combination of pherphenanzine and amitriptylene in a 2:25mg ratio and it has really helped with anxiety and I sleep much better at night, you might want to ask him if he thinks it could be beneficial for you.

I used to wake up in the middle of the night every night pretty much, and now I rarely do.  It also stopped the rapid heartbeat anxiety that some people experience with things like public speaking and such.  Really is a wonder drug imo.

Davi - Are you runnig androgens? Is theis allways a problem even off AAS?
Stuff like Tren, too much Dbol, even big ass load of testo can agravate this prob.

Sounds like myself.  I never sleep soundly.  My heart races every night whether on or off AAS.  I went in not to long ago and had everyhting checked out.  Had blood work, EKG, and an echocardiogram(sp?).  Everything checked out as fine so I don't know what it could be.  I have never been put on any meds but I am seriously thinking about it.  If you don't mind Davi, update this thread as to how the meds are working for you.  Thanks.

Have you tried anything different than Rozerm?  Sounds like you have anxiety, maybe Lexapro or another med that helps with anxiety.  Also Ambien and Lunesta are very good sleeping pills.

Especially the tren bro.  After some weeks of being on it, most nights one is lucky to get 5 hours without waking up.  Sometimes you'll sleep through the night but...the good nights become less and less. :)  This wouldn't really be a problem  except imo lack of sleep over a few months time and heavy, intense weight training will not allow you joints or any minor injuries to heal up.

It sounds like you have alot of issues, bro.

Anabolics should probably be the least of your worries.   :-\

wtf..your doc refuses to put you on sleep medication or lexapro for anxiety cause you are too yyoung?  28 are you kidding, something doesnt sound right, goto another doc man.   Lexapro will change your life for the better, it works on anxiety, depression, etc etc, sleep meds are great too if you have insurance .

You guys might just be badly overtrained.  Cut back to 1 or 2 full body workouts per wk and see how you feel.  Make sure your diet is varied and contains plenty of fresh fruits and veg.

Try cutting out the Asian girl. See if that helps.

Lexapro is the last thing you should ever want to take. It has some of the worst emotional crashes I've ever seen when you try to quit using it, in fact i have a cousin who went suicidal when trying to ween off the stuff under a doctors supervision. if you begin to use lexapro be prepared to use it the rest of your life. better yet, read up about all the people trying to sue the company over the insane panic attacks it can give you if you ever try to quit using it.

I've had high anxiety my entire life, i found that reading and calming the mind through focused meditation changed my entire outlook on sleep. i have never slept better...plus having an Asian girl rub your back at night seems to help. ;)

I've seen the same thing with Lexapro with a friend of mine.  She didnt' get suicidal, she just became a nonfunctional emotional wreck.
