For starters, you say that Obama has no experience. A lightweight. Then you say that you've already got him figured out from his track record.  So where did he get this track record?

I can show u plenty of highly educated folks who have'nt the faintest clue...degree does not equal smart. He's going to be the Commander in Chief of the United States not the lawyer in chief. He has made many mistakes with statements as regards foreign policy. Invading Pakistan, using or not using nukes etc etc are all comments this guy has made that show he's not ready. Obama is Black and has an odd name...besides that?

Does McCain even know what he's about? Have you been following the things this man has done in the last year and a half?  He doesn't know whether he's coming or going.  The only reason he's ahead right now is b/c somebody told him to zip it .....and his main rivals are a Mormon and pro-choicer.

And about the foreign policy/nuclear issues.  Maybe you've heard of the Lugar-Obama legislation? Do you know what it deals with? Do you know how the legislation was written?

Well his record can be found online..there are several comprehensive sites....thats how I found them...they also have his position on everything. They have all the candidates...so no big mystery. Mccains wars...they aren't Mccains wars ..they will be our mistakes if we don't elimanate threats. Appease today and glow tommorrow. He's not planning on invading Iran on the ground..so forget that as an argument. As far as the Obama track record..there isn't much actually....he missed 37 percent of the votes. He voted present for an number of them..and the rest he voted the Dem part line.

I prefer McCain to Romney, although I suspect he will not come up with an acceptable (to US) vision for Iraq either, and continue the Bush muddling around.

However, McCain is a man of his generation for the most part.  I like that Obama's just out of diapers as somebody put it. I want somebody just out of diapers because I'm not happy with how the baby boomers and their predecessors handled things.  I'm counting on Obama's youth and "outsider" status, and I hope that if he becomes president, he does not lose that. (Probably a pipe dream).  It is for these reasons that I do not want Hillary.  My grandmother, as I mentioned before, ran out and voted for Hillary early.  That alone is reason for me to suspect her

If Obama raises taxes, I'm fine with it.  I make more money than the average American, and will probably bear a larger burden, but that's fine.  There are things this administration has dropped the ball on, and I'm willing to pay more taxes in the hope that the next one does not.    

McCain, as you pointed out, has been on important committees forever, and guess what?  He helped develop the particular set of problems we face today, and he has articulated no persuasive solutions.  So, as far as I'm concerned, his "experience" is a drawback.

I predict a huge change in America's approach to foreign policy decision-making, where diplomacy would be used to re-elevate this country to the position of 'leader of the free world', a position that would be respected by the entire world, not just those countries we're able to bully around.  

I'm not saying that he's the next coming of Ronald Reagan, but he certainly gets us moving in that direction, something that cannot be said for Hillary.

The point I was trying to make is that he travelled and did a significant amount of research for that legislation.

We need new aircraft, a new fleet of light vehicles, new refuelers, new Littoral naval craft...new subs....replacemnets or upgrades for the F-15 and F-16..new family of small arms replacing the M-16. None of them have indicated any willingness to clear up his mess.  Someone's got to raise taxes and articulate meaningful objectives for the increased revenue, and no one's shown any desire to do that on the Republican side.  Romney might,,,, but both he and McCain have become extremely slippery in the last year or so, so who knows?

Anybody who's spent any time in Washington knows the importance of defense spending.  I really doubt anybody could be more frivolous in its spending than the current administration.

If u look at the new list of changes proposed to Nato by a review board made up of former officers from the US/France and GB..they propose just that. Nato will and must re acert herself or be disbanded. China and Russia are now and will remaina threat. Both countries are caught between national pride and cold hard cash. China cannot afford a war between Iran and the US. Russia wants stronger ties with Europe but has problems with Asia and is playing with Iran. I want whats in our best interest. We need to get our economics in order...who wouldn't.

The next president needs to undertake a comprehensive look at the Services, get real advice...not from Lib morons....and decide where to get the most bang for the buck. He also can't listen to Rep defense sector folks....otherwise we'll end up with high tech crap that nobody wants and doesn't work. We need to do what Reagan did....we got the F-14/F-15/F-16 B-1/M1 Humvee..the list is endless. We got very lucky ata great time. Rummy and his high tech crap have been less successful.
