I agree the debate was rigged against Paul.

Put aside what his views are, no one can deny that he was ignored on purpose. I wonder what "they" are so afraid of, that "they" must feel like Ron should be silenced?

History was made tonight.  Never before has it been made so obvious to the American people the agenda of the media in the political relm.  It is also sad that the media believes us to be so stupid that they can be so blantant about it.

Oh come on.  He just got 3 percent of the vote in Florida.  He shouldn't be in the race.  They're doing him a huge favor by even allowing him to participate in debates at this point.

He got three percent cause he never gets equal coverage in the media man. You're looking at it the wrong way around, you think it's cause his meesage has no validity that he gets low %'s but it's cause he gets ignored all the time and if you didnt see that at the last debate, you are blind, bro.

Plus this election is all about delegates and Ron has quite a lot of them but the media NEVER talks about it, they even exclude him on all graphs, charts, etc...

Don't bother thinking bro, just choose from the candidates the media presents to you.  We can't be bothered with different viewpoints, and it would be insane to step outside of the viewpoint of our corporate media.

Where exactly did I say "his message has no validity"?  I actually created a thread where I agreed with most of his positions on issues.  http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=192426.0

He also does not have "quite a lot of" delegates.  The delegate count is:

McCain 97
Romney 74
Huckabee 29
Paul 6
Giuliani 2

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/scorecard/#R

I'm just being realistic.  The man has zero shot to be president.  He's not and never has been a viable candidate for president.  He shouldn't be in the race at this point.  Why is he still running?

They should have just had Mcain and Romney on last night if that were the case. why even have Paul and Huckabee on if they arent going to give equal time? At one point they asked three questions in a row to both Mit and John. there would be entire segments where Paul and Huck werent given a chance to say anything, just cut to commercial. Paul should have been more outspoken and made it a point to get his word in.

I understand media outlets are companies, but so what?  They aren't necessarily a homogeneous body, so "corporate media" doesn't seem to be an accurate label.  But I wasn't sure how he was using the phrase.  I often refer to the media as a single entity, but not  “corporate media.”

What does that phrase mean to you?

By that term I mean that the "media" is no different than McDonalds advertising.  It is not news coverage, it is advertising and manipulation through a medium that Americans rely on for information.

Secondly, Ron is still running because his supporters (like me) still send him money and know that this is about more than getting him into office, it is a rally for us to unite and get the message into the mainstream.  It is about getting people to turn their brains on and start thinking.  The candidates are a reflection of the public, and one way to change the public is to reach them in the mainstream.  Ron has done an excellent job of attracting people that are passionate about Liberty.  The challenging part is attracting the Sheep that vote based on nothing definitive about the candidates.

Both McCain and Romney are all over the place, I don't know how you could hold either to any sort of criteria on what they stand for.

I agree in part.  I do think the media manipulates the news and public opinion to some degree.  They are notorious race baiters.  I've seen pandering when it comes to war coverage.   So to that extent, I agree the media can be manipulative.

Re Paul, seems to me he is wasting the campaign funds sent to him.  He doesn't have a large voice on the debate circuit.  He may have attracted a number of followers, but he hasn't been getting comparatively many voters to polls.  He's just spending your money.

He has had enormous exposure.  He's all over the internet.  He has participated in most of the Republican debates on a national stage.  The media covered his fund raising success.  The word is out.  He just hasn't inspired enough voters to become a legit candidate or make a difference in the race.

When you look at his performance in the primaries/caucuses so far, he really hasn't had more of an impact than someone like Ralph Nader.

Ownership of virtually all our media is consolidated in the hands of a few entities.  So what if a handfull of companies localize control of the country's media.

I mean who would want local control of the country's media outlets.

We want the powers that shape our political discourse concentrated in the hands of only a few entities.

BB, being the type of man you are, how can you be for decentralization but support a centralized media?

What are you suggesting, that the federal government force media outlets to be sold?

I look around and see hundreds of media outlets.  They don't all report the same news.  The newspaper editorial boards don't suport the same candidates.  Not sure exactly what you're suggesting?

I heard he may have won in Lousiana and that they are holding off on showing those results untill after super Tuesday.

The media were saying that he should have been out 2 months ago but he beat out Thompson, Guliani, Hunter etc. There were 11 guys on that stage and he's top 4 now. People donate money all the time and it aint corporations, just ordinary people, he got 4 million this month.

His campaign is a HUGE grassroots push, I dont remember any other canidate getting this much active help from ordinary, unpaid, people.  It has a right to be heard.

I'm not here to convince you to support the guy but you have to admit, he's getting ignored cause people at the top don't like what he's saying and they are deliberatly choking him off the air. Or do you not believe that?

Louisiana hasn't had its primary yet.  I'm not sure precisely what happened in Louisiana, but his supporters probably tried to take advantage of low turnout like they did here.  Didn't work here either.

Dude, he should have been out two months ago.  Have you even looked at the primary and caucus results?  He was never a legit candidate, just like all the guys (except Rudy) who dropped out.

Yes he has a large grassroots campaign.  He also has comparatively very few voters who show up at the polls to vote for him.  You can argue with the actual election results all you want.  Don't tell, me the results are rigged, right?
