Awesome shape - 2001 AC post-contest pic (or maybe 2000 Mr O?).

Do you like CC's shape over Coleman's, JJ?

ronnie's a bodybuilder everyone has to respect. gigantic beyond all reason, and as strong as he looked. both the most impressive stage appearances and the craziest workout footage.

most bodybuilders get laughed at by powerlifters and strength athletes because, by and large, they train like pussballs (sorry milos, i'm sure your shit works great, but c'mon). then there's ronnie, doing his 500+ front squats, benching 200 pound dumbbells for 12 and doing so much on the t-bar the handle breaks.

shame he fucked it all up at the end of his career, though.

At their peaks, Nasser wouldn't last 7 seconds against Coleman...

Or otherwise too, but that's another matter altogether ;D

These photos tell quite a different story!

I mean by the standards and criteria by which they judge modern pros.

I thought Coleman looked better with a waist and no gyno but there is no doubt that once Chad managed his drug use Coleman's physique became this new thing that you guys all love and rave about.

Personally, I thought he looked better when he was getting much lower placings. You need big intestines and no physical control over your belly in order to win these days.

Do you think Ronnie would be as revered if he lifted "normal" bbing weight. Obviously he is the greatest ever but in other words does the huge weight he lifts or lifted add to his "mystique"?

The mystique is the way he dwarfed the biggest men on Earth with ease.

The Beef
agreed, Ronnie is the greatest of all time and this is coming from someone who wasn't the biggest fan of his but there's no denying his greatness.

Absolutely!

I remember reading a quote once from Mike matarrazo, after the 98 NOC, he was behind Ronnie in the lineup and
said it was the only time he had ever "felt small"    :o

just not good enough
