if you want to get lean, or minimize fat gains while bulking up, its much easier to d so by getting your protein from whole food sources.    40 grams of protein from chicken will take anywhere from from 40-75 calories to digest. 40 grams of protein from whey takes zero calories to digest.    ..over the course of the day...if you were to eat 400 grams of chicken protein vs. getting 400 grams of whey protein, your difference in caloriec expenditure from eating alone would be around 500 calories.
