Besides getting completely outplayed in every facet of the game.

Going to pretty much exclusively throwing is the quickest way to lose a game. Letting the other team dictate what you do on offense leads to failure. They got far too confident in their ability to throw and it beat them in the end.

Great game though. Lost my voice!

They had to give up... Moroney was 11 for 16 yards at one point, and the Pats offensive line was getting pummeled.

They had to go to quick passes... The Giants secondary just held it together well enough.

Couple that with the Giants front four man handling the Pats Line and well...

You get 18-1.

They usually threw the ball about 80% of the time this year. That is how they ran their offense.

Yeah, I understand that. But I don't think I've ever seen a game where a team went exclusively to throwing or running that ended up working out in the end. Putting all your eggs in one basket like that usually spells trouble, regardless of whether or not you have a QB like Brady. They should've given themselves a gut check on the sidelines and asked themselves if they were men or not.

Did you see Pierce's interview after about the 18-1 quote? Funny stuff. Little bit classless though.

Their RB's are essential though. Killing time on the clock and what not. They had too many 3 and outs due to throwing to keep their defense rested.

Their short passing game is part of their running game. It just didn't work tonight. Sometimes nothing works and you just lose.

I agree... a little too much confidence that they can do whatever they want to in the air... It just didn't work like they expected.

Yeah, I didn't much care for the interview... But class hasn't been the name of the game tonight it seems.

I agree... with the line getting pushed around like that, what else can you do... try to snap the ball off to your money receivers ASAP.

I will say this... Wes Welker is a bad guy... Fast, great hands... He's the smallest badass you'll ever see.

The Pats lost, but Wes did everything he could do to win.

That's true. But a team with an offense of New England's caliber shouldn't shy away from what works for them. Pounding the rock to kill clock and annihilating you over the top. Trying to go to just passing which ended up giving the Giants the ball too much.

Their o-line was great all year. They should've been able to give themselves a gut check on the sidelines.

I didn't even know the GMEN's d-line was capable of playing like that. Not that I'm complaining.

Yeah Holmes. Welker is a beast. Whenever he touched the ball my stomach dropped a little. His little crossing patterns where he gets open space to run are scary stuff. Still shocked the Pats got him for so little.

He was a non-factor for most of the playoffs. He ended up with like 5 or 6 catches for all three playoff games. Granted a lot of that had to do with the double+ coverage he was in most of the time.

I really thought he was going to catch that pass with 7 seconds left. Can't believe Webster or whoever it was got their hand in there.

the guy keeps his mouth shut and becomes a team player and they use him less....

I still say that second week off between the conference title games and the super bowl makes teams stale.

Nothing changed from the regular season actually. The difference was the Giants intense defense and the fact that NE wasn't playing well.

I think it's been pretty known that I was a Giants fan on here for a long time. Sorry that my posts have been deleted for the last 4 months so I couldn't tell you what I thought about the Pats then.

I'm not surprised a #### like you is trying to insinuate that the Pats beat themselves, not like they got outplayed in every single facet of the game. At least Body88 acknowledges the Giants.

Don't beat yourself up too badly. So a team only gets a chance to go 19-0 like that maybe once. So they got beaten in every facet of the game by a 2 TD underdog. Just a game in the end. A game the GMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNN won!
