That is why things never change.
Your attitude is shared by millions and if you all voted in what you believed in regardless of wether it was popular with the rest of the sleeping population or not, it could have made a difference. Maybe not a presidency but a chance to get the message of freedom from big government out to much more people.
The problem is, supporters of true candidates of change let the media talk them into the notion that "he has no chance", and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The mass media represents the status quo... they will marginalize any candidate who wants to make wholesale changes whether they are good for the country or not.
What we need is a libertarian-leaning "Manchurian Candidate"... talk the talk like he's a "regular politician", say whatever he needs to say to fool the media and get elected, then once in the White House, take the mask off, change his tune, and say what really needs to be said instead.
