Putting a 6.6 Duramax in my H1.
« on: February 06, 2008, 11:16:54 PM »
Just got the crate drivetrain yesterday. Truck is sitting at Predator's waiting for the transformation.

450hp & 660lb/ft of torque.  20mpg and running biodiesel.

It's all about the gigantic turbo intercooler and high compression ratio.

How about it's slightly embarassing ;)

But once this is done, that truck will last forever.

BSB, been there done that, it's just hard to see the hood cumstains because of the mudstains I added on top.

Can you hook me up? My trailblazer has cloth seats and the smell seems deeply incrusted.

just got it back. Going for a dyno tomorow (the new transfer case allows 2wd).

Our take is in the new ballpark of 500hp and close to 700hp of torque.

just remember those are flywheel estimates, the number to the wheels will be about 30% lower due to the transfer thrue the tranny and the rear end.

oh yeah, you can run either nitrous oxide or propane in a diesel.i use nitrous but only because i had enough old nitrous express parts to build a kit for my Harley truck.

Yes we've got a nice little realtime analyzer who takes care of the conversions.

Nice.. How do you mount the injection "booster"? On top of the fuel rails? not really literate on that but I've seen propane tanks of PowerStroke and Cummins...

for gas engine, you usually add the nitro spray in the intake, for diesel, I doubt you can spray propane in the intake, don't know much about it but I think you need to modify your entire injection system.

ALL diesel engines are high compression...that's what makes them run.

it isn't "nitro" it's nitrous oxide...N2O. .."Nitro" is Nitromethane as in Top Fuel/ Funny cars.

It is laughing gas like at the dentist...only they do add something to it to make it poisonous to prevent people from using it to get high.

This one actually has a lower compresion ratio than stock; 16.8:1 from 17.5:1... new piston design. Makes the rings and head gaskets last a little longer and take more beating.
