First Cycle

I'm 6'4" 210lbs. My friend recently took a cycle of anavar and got good gains in strength and gained about 10 lbs. I was thinking about doing a cycle because it doesn't aromitize for the most part. I have only taken prohormones before and I want to cut up and gain a little more mass. Also should I bother with PCT? Get some in case? What do you think?

i have very limited knowledge. but i love giving out advice. so ill tell you what i DO kow.

anavar is very safe. but very weak(as far as steroids go). youll keep a good amount of the gains...but the gains will be small.   

ORAL ONLY CYCLES= COMPLETE DOGSHIT!!!! (test levels bouncing way up and way down and natty production being shut down even while the oral is no longer active..)

i would use some sort of post cycle care no matter what i was taking...     but maybe you dont need to do it for very long, or do it in very high doseages...or you could just use an over the counter product for prohormones like novadex by gaspari or restore by alri ...tribulus works well too.

If you're going to do an oral only cycle, then this is prob the way to go...and yes, you could get by w/o PCT from this.

how about you guys just delete my posts if i wrte something incorrect...and if your not a mod correct me. ill gladly delete anything that is false or incorrect or even slightly off.      i dont want to give anyone bad info..just trying to learn by teaching what i know...helps reinforce the knowledge..

Thank you for the help.  Also, what dosage would you recommend me running this at?  I was thinking of running a six week cycle and tapering off the dosage at the end so the PCT would not be necessary.

its got a very short half life so its out of the system quick. of course pct would be better but imo he could get away with it

Yes, any AAS will shut you down...some harder then others. Var would fall into the "light" category...this is one of the reasons it's used by so many females with great success...it's not a harsh drug by any means.

Should he sue PCT? Yes, but if he doesn't it's not going to be the end of the world for him.

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, the moment you start introducing exogenous hormones, you start the shut down process.  Thankfully our bodies don't just instantly turn off, there is a pretty good system in place that monitors levels and adjusts accordingly.  It's really individual though when it comes to the specifics of shutdown.  Some guys can get away with a 4 week only cycle of orals and be fine, others will shut down like a truck of cement hitting a 40foot wall of steel. 

I'd have some PCT ancilieries on hand just in case and play it by ear.  But as AJ said and I second this, oral only cycles are really not recommended.
