that show would be flex magazine workout! it was actually on one of my channels that i get with my satellite dish for a few months (mon thru fri afternoons) if you get past the 1-piece singlets and short shorts (the style back in the day) is was actually a pretty informative entertaining show! plus it had many of the top male and female bber's at the time "guest starring" young lee priest, flex wheeler, j.j. marsh, demayo, billy smith, lenda murray, frank zane, jim quinn etc!

too bad shows like that aren't on anymore on espn. hell, you would think at least think they would show reruns on fit tv or somewhere. speaking of that you would think there is enough audience for a bodybuilding channel like the golf channel/tennis channel.

back in the mid 1990's espn had cory everson with her own show  kiana's flex appeal show ( with her and clark bartram), clark bartram's own show (american health and fitness), co-ed training with rick valente and carla dunlap. etcetera! bodybuilding back in it's tv heyday!

i think somewhere on the internet you can videos of episodes of the flex magazine show

I remember Cory's show and was "on set" on many occasions. It was filmed on the North Shore of Oahu at a place called Turtle Bay. Jeff set it up so that the ocean always appeared in the background. It looked better on TV than it actually looks if you visited the site yourself.

The hotel there was originally intended to be a casino when they thought that gambling would be legal in Hawaii.  The last time I saw it the rebar was showing through the sides of the building as a result of salt water damage. I assume that they have it all repaired by now.

I liked watching those old Flex Magazine workouts.  Boyer had his rug in full effect on those.  They had a young Lee Priest on there.  It was the first time I heard all the pros' voices.  I only saw them in the mags.

A bit of history here.... Back in the 50's there was a bodybuilding show on Saturday afternoons directed at teen age kids in the San Francisco Bay Area. A bodybuilder and his son simply showed teenagers how to exercise various body parts and it was a good and wholesome show for the first couple of weeks.

Then someone on the show decided that it would be a great idea if the dad squatted with a calf on his shoulders every Saturday to see how long he could lift that calf before it got too darn heavy to get off the ground.

The first couple of weeks went perfectly but by the third or fourth week that little calf shit all over the studio while the dad had it on his shoulders and was squatting with it. The crew started laughing and the camera started shaking, but the dad kept on squatting like nothing was happing while the shit flew everywhere. (I guess the calf had an upset stomach or something because it sure wasn't compacted "road apples" that were causing the problem.)

Now the show was a huge success due to that one episode and most teenagers were talking about it all week long, but for some unknown reason it was replaced by "Time For Beanie" the following Saturday and never heard from again.

And ever since then, I've never seen anyone attempt to lift an animal who could possibly have the shits while being lifted. But I think something close once happened on the Johnny Carson Show.
