BB.com owner's opinion on Muscletech products..
« on: February 12, 2008, 06:15:01 PM »
Honestly? They have a bad reputation, but they really, seriously do TONS of research on their products. I would bet a lot of money that they do more research than nearly every other supplement company combined. You know the pics of doctors in lab coats that look so fake in their ads? They aren't fake. They are doing researching with so many real universities and spending a lot of money to do it.

They do testing on EVERY batch to be sure that their label claims are accurate.

The feedback we get from customers is that their products do work. They were more expensive, but we just lowered ALL MuscleTech products prices on Monday by a good amount.

They have a bad rep because of their advertising. They actually do have substantation to back up their claims (we asked them for it once when we needed it for a lawyer and they had it all to us within hours). They are "gimmicky" in their ads, which WORKS but also pisses people off.

I would bet that 90% of the MuscleTech haters have never even tried a MuscleTech product.

Also, MuscleTech is different now than they used to be five years ago. They learned a lot.

The people at MuscleTech are great. You would be surprised.

My buddy used to work for them, they don't do that much research.

Do you know how muscletech started? a lonely musclemag employee and university student ripped off the formula for the old Ripped Fuel and started selling it as his own invention 'hydroxycut' . I've met the guy, and the musclemag where he used to work behind the counter is 5 minutes up the street from me.

muscletech is all advertising. Clever advertising, tons of it.

I won't go that far.. but that's how it started off, if you look back to some of the first muscletech ads the owner (paul or john green) is in some of the old ads.

The products themselves aren't that bad. The prices and ridiculous ads are why people don't like them. They cater to teh 17 year olds who think Jay stacks Cell Tech and Anator p-70 to win the Mr.Olympia.

this is very true, how many of you guys encounter teens that ask you "what protein powder do you use" "do you use creatine" i get that all the time...Muscletech is ok, but when they say shit like "DNA changing supplements" its going a bit to far.

Years ago, I used one of MT's creatine supps.  That shit worked and the label was accurate enough for me.

Wannabe musclemen have always believed they needed protein and supplements to build muscle. This is nothing more than a scam perpetuated by one supplement company after another. No matter what you tell muscleheads they keep believing the same stuff and keep buying supplements thinking this is going to help them get big. Bodybuilding resembles religion more than it does science.

The research muscletech does on their products is phenomenal.  Many of us have seen the videos of "the lab" where there's usually a guy doing leg extensions while some guy in a white doctors coat is watching him.

Actually, most of their research is conducted by Vince Basile.  He reports back with gibberish like "GoatboyDebusseyFlotsamLa dsILikeFatChicksYouBigot sRozDumpedMeHypertrophy!", and the MT marketing people paraphrase it to "Our product is 2,345% more effective than the competition!".
