let me give you guys a little tip regarding supplements - if its legal, it dont work.

TROOF.

It usually takes people a long time to figure that out...

Here is all you need to know about supplements. Everything else is either wishful thinking or placebo. The supplements that DO work give such a negligible benefit that its hardly worth the money.

Worth it:
Protein
Creatine (if you like bloat)
Fish Oil
vitamins/minerals
quality food
Sesamine (borderline)

Rip off:
BCAA/EAA = myth, you dont need them if your protein is adequate. It might be muscle sparing on a cut if you are eating nothing but toilet paper. http://www.mindandmuscle.net/articles/jamie-hale/BCAA-roundtable
all the NO bullshit is laughable
everything else

Losing fat: Armour Thyroid (t3,t4 - dose up and cruise at 2.5-3 grain), Albuterol (Volmax 8mg controlled release tablets), Diet. You can get this for cheap from an online pharmacy w/ little to no risk...  Its surprisingly hard to permanently shut down your thyroid (studies back this up). Honestly, albuterol is probably easier on your CNS than all these BS fat burners out there and its more effective. Its also shown to PROMOTE muscle in studies. Avoid Clenbuterol, it causes tissue damage in the heart. The half life and clearance makes Albuterol safer.

Gaining Muscle: Food + Hormones... Prohormones: furazadrol is a very MILD choice, very low sides and not methylated. Halodrol-50 clones are pretty safe too. Epistane is good, less bloat then phera or halodrol.  Pheraplex clones pack a bit more punch but are more androgenic (more sides). Avoid superdol, it works well but is hard on the lipids. Its hilarious that we have legal prohormones that are MUCH harder on you than illegal choices. IM testosterone is probably the safest route one can go in terms of hormones (besides maybe anavar).

Its that simple... Accept it now or regret it later. It just takes a while to realize it. Usually by the time you do its too late and you have spent thousands on supplements over the years. Anyone who tells you different is either A) ill informed or B) making money off the supplement industry in some capacity.

can someone send me some muscletech protein and see if it makes me break out like gay ass bodyfortress?
Is Bodyfortress that nasty Wal-Mart brand? If so, I bought it before and could only drink it if I blended it up with fruit and ice...stuff tasted horrible on its own.

If I remember correctly, the company was founded by a guy who worked for a supp company and came up with a theory that you could base a conpany SOLEY on advertising and it would do well. He got a million bucks loaned to him and a year later the company was taking off. Pretty smart IMO. People are sheep and will buy anything.

Honestly? They have a bad reputation, but they really, seriously do TONS of research on their products. I would bet a lot of money that they do more research than nearly every other supplement company combined. You know the pics of doctors in lab coats that look so fake in their ads? They aren't fake. They are doing researching with so many real universities and spending a lot of money to do it.

They do testing on EVERY batch to be sure that their label claims are accurate.

The feedback we get from customers is that their products do work. They were more expensive, but we just lowered ALL MuscleTech products prices on Monday by a good amount.

They have a bad rep because of their advertising. They actually do have substantation to back up their claims (we asked them for it once when we needed it for a lawyer and they had it all to us within hours). They are "gimmicky" in their ads, which WORKS but also pisses people off.

I would bet that 90% of the MuscleTech haters have never even tried a MuscleTech product.

Also, MuscleTech is different now than they used to be five years ago. They learned a lot.

The people at MuscleTech are great. You would be surprised.

The products themselves aren't that bad. The prices and ridiculous ads are why people don't like them. They cater to teh 17 year olds who think Jay stacks Cell Tech and Anator p-70 to win the Mr.Olympia.

Yeah.. the products themselves arent bad at all.

They do testing on EVERY batch to be sure that their label claims are accurate.

What a joke! I'd love to see their lab results from this product (which they made several label changes too without ever changing the "claimed" dosage).

Here's the Supplement Facts from a bottle of Muscletech's Diet Tech product. It claims a proprietary "Metabo-Tech" blend of 843mg.
In the blend it "claims" to contain Green tea leaf extract which is standardized at 45% epigallocatechin galate (EGCG) which equals 300mg of EGCG.

Let's do the math!

First, we need to determine how much Green tea leaf extract is in the proprietary blend. In order to do that, we will calculate the other ingredient dosages and subtract them from the total blend. Then the only ingredient left will be the Green Tea.

Let's create the best possible scenario to produce the highest amount of Green Tea possible (to give them the benefit of doubt).

Other ingredients:

Caffeine (as caffeine anhydrous) - Let's say they only have 1mg (even though it would be ridiculous to assume that they split 1mg of caffeine into 4 separate capsules).
Guarana extract - Again, let's say there's only 1mg per 4 capsules (ridiculous).
Yerba Mate (Standardized for 200mg Caffeine). - Let's give them the benefit of doubt and say that Yerba Mate is 100% caffeine (which it is not). They claim to have 200mg.
Alpha Lipolic Acid - Again, let's say there's only 1mg per 4 capsules (ridiculous).

So let's add it up, Caffeine 1mg + Guarana 1mg + Yerba Mate 200mg + Alpha Lipolic Acid 1mg = 203mg total.

The proprietary blend claims 843mg. If Green Tea is the only ingredient we did not include, it is the only ingredient left. So, subtract the other ingredients from the proprietary blend: 843mg - 203mg = 640mg is Green Tea.

(Now that's only if they have 1mg of each of the other ingredients. By the way, that's actually illegal! All ingredients in a proprietary blend MUST be listed in order of potency, highest first, unless all ingredients are of equal amount. Federal Labeling Law).

So now we have 640mg of Green Tea, (which they claim is 45% EGCG which totals 300mg). Let's do the math, 640mg x 45% = 288mg NOT 300mg. And remember, that's with all of the other ingredients being 1mg.

Conclusion: MUSCLETECH IS FULL OF CRAP AND BLANTANTLY MAKES FALSE LABEL CLAIMS!!!!!!!

It sure doesn't sound like they "test every batch to make sure their label clams are accurate"!
