UFC 81 all pass drug tests - Will M1?
« on: February 14, 2008, 02:46:05 PM »
The Nevada State Athletic Commission recently informed MMAmania.com that all 12 of the fighters randomly tested for drugs on the UFC 81: “Breaking Point” fight card on February 2 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, came back negative.

Here’s the list:

    * Timothy Sylvia
    * Antonio Nogueira
    * Brock Lesnar
    * Frank Mir
    * Nathan Marquardt
    * Jeremy Horn
    * Rob Emerson
    * Tim Boetsch
    * Tyson Griffin
    * Marvin Eastman
    * Ricardo Almeida
    * Chris Lytle

Fighters are tested for banned substances such as performance-enhancing anabolic steroids, as well as recreational drugs like marijuana and cocaine.

Will be interesting to see how well M1 handles the drugtests as well as putting a show together. Pride were notorious for having fighters juiced up and all kinds of problems putting a show together. M1 delayed the show from february, to april.

Marvin Eastman were scheduled to fight at Pride 32 but was replaced.
Mark Hunt were scheduled to fight at Pride 32 but was replaced.
Wand was expected to fight at Pride 32 but wasn't allowed to.
Nishijima didn't tap, but the ref stopped the fight anyway.
Crocop was expected to fight, but had an injury.
Vitor Belfort were caught in drugtest.
Kevin Randleman were caught in drugtest.
Pawel Nastula were caught in drugtest.

In Pride 32, 10 outta 16 were tested. In Pride 33, 10 outta 18 were tested. In UFC 81, 12 outta 18 were tested.

Gilbert Yvel was scheduled to fight in Pride 33 but was replaced.
Wes Sims was supposed to fight Fujita. Then Mark Hunt. Turned out none of these guys fought anyone in Pride 33.
Nakamura was out due to injury.
Nick Diaz tested positive for marijuana.

If M1 is anything like Pride... I would wait until the very last minute to buy a ticket.

There is no test for growth.

I'm sure they're clean of that too. ::)

Who holds the belt at 155? That's right, no one because both fighters that fought for it tested positive in the same event. KERPWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think any of the PRIDE USA events had both fighters testing positive. The UFC should be ashamed of themselves.

We get it Bluto. Mean ol' M-1 will most likely be the best organization by the end of 08. Stop crying and get over it.

i don't think testing these 12 guys were chosen "randomly", but good for all of them being clean, especially lesnar

UFC put on a lot of shows and have a lot of fighters.

Pride had 4 fighters caught in just two shows. That's a lot.

I hope M-1 will be able to put on ONE show to begin with.

All your pro-UFC hollering isn't going to change the fact that in one championship fight, the UFC had BOTH fighters test positive for steroids. That is absolutely embarrassing. They were having people test positive for everything under the sun through most of last year...cocaine, weed, steroids. They were probably 3-4 positive tests an event at one point.

Pride USA was better. Don't cry, it just was.

You are the most uninformed, bitter UFC fanboy I have ever seen. Then again, I forget that you're the same moron that has claimed to have been a cage fighter for the last 20 years.

I hate to have to repeat myself but with you it seems unavoidable - with the volume of shows UFC put on, the volume of fighters and the volume of tests, the no of fighters caught arn't that many.

With Pride however, they're notorious for having juiced fighters and getting caught with 4 guys in 2 shows is a lot.

Pride US was better? Better than what?

I'm uniformed? Every other post I have to correct you for talking out of your ass or making things up. And frankly, I'm getting tired of it. Sometimes I wonder if you're retarded or just post shit to stir up shit because you love the attention and the replies it generates.

Probably a little of both I say!

You're a little thick headed. At one point last year, fighters were testing positive every single event. When you have both fighters who are fighting for a CHAMPIONSHIP test positive for steroids, you have a problem. And when you have fighters testing positive for cocaine, then it's definitely a problem.

Who holds the true belt at 155? No one, because they're a bunch of steroid abusing retards. Pride never had a belt voided because of steroid tests!!!!

The UFC should be ashamed! And their fanboys are laughably pathetic!

Using Vitor as an example is hilarious. Pretty sure he tested positive in the UFC, slick. That's how weak your argument is. Using Vitor, HA!

I'll admit though. Having someone of Mindspin's "stature" attach himself to your nutsack is quite an accomplishment. I too dream of having a 40 year old Colombian wannabe following me around as my "yes man".  :'(

Hahaha, Bluto responds to 100% of the posts I make. All I have to do is say the UFC sucks and he goes apeshit like a kid.

It's alright. You're only proving that you don't train or appreciate MMA in general. You just love sucking UFC dick because it probably makes you "cool" in your own little world.  ;D

I love running your life.

Hahaha, how far in your head am I? You've been following me around the boards for a few weeks now. Step it up, you're trying too hard and getting nowhere. A millionaire, jet setting businessman who owns half of California while finding time to snowboard for decades and cage fight should surely be capable of more insulting barbs.  :-\
