Yes, in fact you are correct. It tastes like kaakaa in a bottle with a terrible radioactive, metallic aftertaste. Not kidding either.

I bought a bottle of it about two weeks ago, and I was sorry I did. Not a good combo at all...and it replaces the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper that was my absolute (not Vodka!) number one all time favorite drink!

Far as I know, the Vanilla is gone.

I'll talk to someone in a store tomorrow, but usually they bring in the new, and out with the old. There is only so much shelf space to go around, and Dr. Pepper is not as big of a holder as the King-Coke. Or Pepsi. They pay much more $$$ for slotting and have more holding power. Plus, if memory serves, Pepsi markets Dr. Pepper out here, and it falls by the wayside.

A busted ho, is Chocolate Cherry Dr. Pepper and Vodka (I racially sterotyped the pros as black when naming the drink for the chocolate

I did some talking yesterday to store employees, but not any soda representatives. From what I could tell, the Cherry Vanilla will be available but only at select stores. In other words, only bigger "sets" or big stores that have more holding power...and possibly independent markets that cater to people wanting "different tastes." This would be a Trader Joe's or something similar, that have more unique items instead of a larger chain (Safeway, Lucky, Kroger etc...) that cater to the masses.

The Cherry Vanilla is NOT going away!!! The Cherry Chocolate flavor is a limited time only flavor...but the Cherry Vanilla will be a permanent resident on the shelves of the local market.
