Cuban sues UFC over Couture's fighting contract
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:37:35 PM »
Couture owes UFC two more fights on his fighting contract, even if he comes back from "retirement"> Cuban wants a court to say that "resigning" from UFC means that he can fight elsewhere.

I have a feeling randy's gonna have to buy his way out of that contract he signed with Zuffa......

and I think Zuffa's gonna put the screws to him when he tries.

Zuffa'll probably try to settle with Randy soon. They know Cuban has better lawyers, and with Cuban's backing, Randy can make it so that Zuffa will spend years in court trying to get their "damages" for breach of contract.

I'm optimistic that we'll see Randy-Fedor by October or November.

Couture fighting in M-1 gives that organization instant credibility with a ton of casual UFC fans that normally would have taken a lot more time if he had'nt (or dos'nt)......

fedor beating Couture also takes away any claims of "world heavyweight champion" that the UFC can otherwise claim.

yeah and the longer this match up will take the worse are randys chances

and if randy doesnt stand much of a chance, the interest in seeing him fight gets smaller as well

i love couture and he is probably the greatest p4p fighter i've ever seen but his ego has deluded him.

fedor will destroy him at this point in time and will only do it that much easier as time passes and randy gets older. couture has no chance whatsoever.

Couture is a likable guy, but what's throwing things off here is that he's bitching like a little girl over a contract HE SIGNED. If the money's not there, DON'T SIGN!

In worst case, he'll get his ass kicked by Fedor, followed by massive judgement against him in court. This law suit could last for years. Zuffa could claim massive Pay Per View losses and they definitely will. I doubt Cuban will keep financing the law suit after he's gotten what he wants from Randy; establishing a new fighting league with serious heavyweight talent. When Randy will likely lose, Cuban needs to find new contenders to challenge Fedor and Randy will lose his signifigance.
