I have a site (Arthur's Hall of Manliness) and as a reasonably big guy (6'0 290lbs and not too fat ) I think it is important that younger guys can learn how to get into bodybuilding for the right reasons and how not to be a wanna-be. Here is an article I did for beginners I thought I would put it up here and see what you guys think. http://www.arthurshall.com/x_bodybuilding.shtmlKeep in mind, this article is for beginners. I have since written some more detailed articles on Bodybuilding. Thanks!
Malnourished? How...Overfed..possibly.
250 grams of protein? ONLY if the guy is 130 lbs...and then, that would be in the presence of high carbs. most bb'rs will grow optimally at or around 400 grams... anything less than that and your missing out on growth that would have occured had you kept your blood stream fully saturated with amino's all day long.
Ok..we agree man. Keep in mind that this article was for beginners. I personally eat about 450g but I am 290 lbs. I think 1.5-2g per lb of bodyweight is optimum. For a beginner who has never eaten 150g in a day..250 will be a jump. I figure most beginners are 150-200 so I thought that was an ok number.
Candidate, I'm eating about 240gr protein a day ,doing just fine ,and believe me ,I tried high protein diet (300gr to 400 gr),it didn't make any difference.
there is truth in teh fact that the body can only digest and absorb so much protein at one time. and if you are not chewing you rptoein or taking too big of bites, this will also cause for less protein to actualy getinto the bloodstream. eating vegetables or carbs o fats first in a meal will also hinder the digestion of protein... when i say 400 grams of protein, i dont mean 100 grams in four meals. i mean 50 grams in 8 meals. ideally..as many meals as possible. eating the protein first, chewing completely, and cooking it properly.
I personally don't care for high protein diets. I generally take in less then 200grams a day & feel just fine. I actually feel better then when I was taking in 300-400grams a day.
Exactly. I've tried both ways and stick at around 250-300 a day for protein. I've went as high as 450 and felt like shit. There is no magic protein number, you have to find what works for you but the guys suggestions aren't that far off.
your one stupid mother fucker.please nobody read what he has to say...setting people up to be malnourished and overtrained.
