Gunter deserved it no doubt. He is not a better bb than Ronnie but that day he was 100% spot on. But will he ever do it again?

He should have beaten him at the O that yr but got the nod at the GNC at least.
Ronnie goes down as one of the great Mr O's in history while Gunter had a few good shows.

Yeah...Gunther is one of the best dudes around. About 10 years ago when I was in the Army I wrote him a letter because we are very similar genetically and I wanted to know how to get my chest to come along as it was lagging. I got a hand written letter back, complete with misspelled words in the space of two weeks. He gave me some ideas and I have put them to use. I will never be a pro but I feel pretty good about being 6'0 and 290lbs with a normal amount of bodyfat. I could probably shape up and be on stage at 245-255 which ain't bad. He is my hero and he did look great in those pics. Him winning the O would be the best thing that has happened to the sport since Arnold retired.

  Sure, Gunther at his absolute best defeated Ronnie at his absolute worst - or close -, and that is supposed to prove what? I was at the 2000 Mr.Olympia and Ronnie would destroy any version of Gunther easily in the way he was at that contest.

I don't think so.

Ronnie's pecs are larger and his mandatory poses are complete, and aren't ruined by a giant waistline(as they are with Gunter).

If Jay looks like a fridge, then Gunter looks like a Freezer.. hahaha

It doesn't really matter because Big Ron got his motivation back and trained his ass off until the 2003 Olympia. Arguably his best showing.

Good One.  That was a hometown show for Ronnie in Louisiana.  I'm assuming he thought that show was in the bag before stepped on stage.

I don't agree with this but in an interview in 2003
Pete Grymkowski (who was part owner of the Gold's Gym chain said,
"Along with the rest of the audience at the 2002 Olympia I gave Gunter
a standing ovation. He was without the slightest doubt the greatest physique I had ever
seen."
Pete was a big bodybuilder and competed at the 1973 Mr. America at 256 pds.
It's funny that I was reading that interview last night and this thread pops up today.

I hear ya bro I remember reading that letter it was awesome I couldnt believe he wrote you man......at least he wrote you over ronnie coleman who just sent you a photo and not even signed.....

Actually Ronnie was really good at responding to emails. I recieved a few from him, one even sent from his blackberry. And all within 24hrs of sending them to him. I was impressed.

both chris and coleman should have placed over gunter in that gnc...

What advice did he give you for improving your chest?
