Our generation, or any generation during this very brief 200 year oil and industrial era (50 more years) are severely fucked anyway. There have been no regards for environment and chemicals, we are jam packed with shit from cradle to the grave. Soon nature will return to clean healthy state again, just as soon as the oil runs out. Everything bad will be phased out as the realization of what has been done to our self sets in. People will soon get very strong and healthy. We on the other hand, probably living through the worst episode as far environment goes in mankind's history and future. We will be thought of with pity by future generations. What we have been through will seem unreal to them. That is to say we make it through 2012.
