I think the people who would pick Dexter over Phil Heath are mostly giving him credit for years of quality performances in bodybuilding, and while that may be the case, I don't think he is as good as Phil. Better conditioned, yes, better, no.

I disagree. I believe that AT THIS MOMENT dex is superior to phil but phil may eventually eclipse dex.

Just not right now.

Both men have their structural flaws, heath is narrow, dex have high lats. Both have small frames.

In terms of bodyparts phil has noticebly better quads and calves. His arms are better too but its not like dex is a slouch in the guns department.

Dex has incredible delts, abs, chest and back, just too much for a young heath.

One of phil's strengths - his conditioning, really becomes a moot point with regards to dexter who is superior in that regard and whose density and quality far outshines a relatively inchoate heath who by comparison doesn't have that "finish" that dex has.

For this reason i say dexter for the win

Those are good points. Dexter does have a lot of strengths for sure. Overall, I prefer Heath's look, and you be right that Heath is not quite ready. It would be easier to judge viewing them side by side. But I wouldn't doubt that Heath has a chance.

with respect matt i believe you are judging heath on what you think he will become not what he is currently. currently he is not better than dex.

Not better in terms of conditioning...but I don't think he gives up a lot of size to Dexter. What do you think? Also, I prefer Phil's structure to Dexter's. Phil's relative narrowness is not as much of a flaw as Dexter's high and jutting lats in my opinion.

Branch looks great there - only problem is the back usually lacks the hardness, separation and detail that is seen from the front.

i think heath has great arms and legs, but his waist is slightly wider than it should be, his chest is small, his back is narrow and lacks thickness, and as you said his conditioning isn't as good as dex's.

dex i feel lacks calfs, although i dont think he has high lats, but i can see why you feel that, but i would ask that you look at the olympia 03 pics where he is compared with coleman, i think he looks like a smaller version from the back. overall i think dex as a perfectly balanced physique, and in my eyes thats what mr o and all champions should be

anyway we don't have long to wait before we see tonights comparisons
