Gov. Linda Lingle has joined a group of six Republican governors to endorse the presidential campaign of U.S. Sen. John McCain.

Lingle’s action comes a day before the Ohio and Texas Democratic and GOP primaries.

In her endorsement, Lingle said “John McCain is a well known fiscal conservative who will bring strong fiscal discipline to Washington.

“He will work hard to cut taxes for all Americans. Senator McCain is a decorated veteran who will make certain that our nation's veterans are treated fairly after their service to our country. I am very proud to be part of his team."

McCain is expected to secure an unbeatable advantage in the GOP delegate count after tomorrow’s primaries.

The other governor’s endorsing McCain this morning were: Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue and Alabama Gov. Bob Riley.
