Kind of a stain on his legacy to retire like this... he was mad the packers didn't make a stronger move for free agent Randy Moss... when moss re-signed with Pats yesterday, brett called the coach and said 'I quit'.

He's been *done* for a few years now.  I'd love to see them win one without him.

I had fun watching Favre and times I hated him.  This last season, he was fun as hell to watch.  Had he been able to cope with the cold better, we would have seen him in the superbowl--No doubts.  He had a good stint.

1. he won't really retire.  sour grapes and he'll be back in a week.

2. Yes, he is very lucky, but very inconsistent.  They should have DESTROYED the choking Giants.  Throwing that pick completely epitomized his ability at this point.

More breaking news...

Favre called ESPN...left a voicemail... lol @ favre watching this on TV.

brett explained his decision... it wasn't about randy moss... it was about being mentally worn down.  anything short of winning the SB wouldn't be 'worth the time'.

No, this season he was consistent.  It was the cold factor if you watched the game.  Clearly he wasn't able to cope with the extreme cold like manning did.  Manning maned up in an impressive manner in the sub temps.  The old man in farve caved to the temps.  that's all that was.  Had that been on a normal day, Farve would have won againt NY
