Without knowing the facts of an invite, or lack of one, or whatever...it's hard to give an opinion on what the IFBB's stance is. Keep in mind, however, that the promoter (Jim Lorimer) is in charge of everything that goes on that stage...it's not an IFBB matter.

I think Nasser got exactly what he wanted...complete seperation from his BB colleagues. He has stated without question that he's not worried about "burning bridges" he's built because he doesn't have friends in the industry...

Now, you have to find out through Lorimer about the "extended invitation to the other respected athletes,  or, if the invitation was word of mouth/gossip ".  I'll give you a few days to get back with an answer.

Nasser being uninterrest to the ASC is a little odd; considering he was pretty adamant about a free flight to Columbus. But regardless, Nasser the "Warrior and speaker of his own Truth" will never volunteer truthful information.
...Not to mention Bigbobs stopped responding and defending Nasser.  Did he elope with El Mariachi?  El Mariachi announced his last post and poof! Bigbobs ended.

I talked to Nasser a few times about him going to the Arnold Classic, so he definately knew about it.  I am not so sure he wanted to attened. Hypothetically, Nasser was anticipating an invite; but didn't receive one.  However, he was prepared for the AC weekend trip with the free airfare.

-Free flight:
Nasser was able to get a free airfare to the ASC from the interview sometime in January 20th or 21st; 6 weeks before the ASC weekend; he seemed excited about getting a free fare.  Was the free airfare deal cancelled? No mention of the cancellation.

-Hotel accommodation:
Either he can't afford it; or the hotels and motels are completely booked that weekend; or Nasser could not find anyone willing to share accommodation.  The "anyone" include his peers who are past ASC winners (ouch!).

-3 to 4 weeks before the ASC:
Nasser still asking about ASC formal invitation and flight and accommodation; losing interest/withdrawan and letdown for the unjust treatment by not receiving a formal invitation as a past ASC winner.

ASC weekend:
A line-up of previous ASC winners presentation on stage, and video montage; without mentioning Nasser as 1999 ASC winner, nor was there a special mention to explain why he was absent (just as absent nominees at Oscars) during the presentation; no cut-out image of Nasser, and no image of Nasser 1999 winning in the video montage. 
Why would ASC have the past winners stage presentation and skip the 1999 winner?  Yet, Nasser did not utter about being ignored/rubbed out of the line-up and video.

Post ASC:
In an interview via telephone/mobile, Nasser still asked about the formal invitation regarding ASC peers.  His tone of disappointment after finding out that Levrone and Francois received formal invitation with free flight and accommodation.  El Marihoochee-Mama requests Ron to delete his profile; posts his farewell; oddly, bigbobs stops posting defense reply for Nad'ster.

Nasser went APE many moons ago....he literally went around with a tin of kerosense burning every bridge in sight, while cursing everyones mother's name.....that type of behaviour has implications.....his ASC omission was an example.....
