Another thing is, I honestly believe the additional boards have hurt this forum. Back then, EVERYTHING happened on G & O. Now you've got a board for pets for christsakes! What's next? A toe nail clipping board?

True. It used to be better back in 04 - there were genuine ownings (240 and chick come to mind) and people talking about bodybuilding like genuine fans. It all started to go downhill when the general board was divided up into about five different sections and that stupid pet board was introduced. And don't get me started on the X,Y,Z boards or whatever the fuck they are for certain guys could run to in order to have their little exclusive comforting sessions with each other whenever they got dissed on the G&O. It's getting fucking lame - not to mention eurotrash like Sevastase and Stark making up random posts on any old shit, attention whoring and slowing the site with their drivel. Then you've got other guys who make baseless personal attacks on others with no skill involved at all - that shit's too easy to do and anyone could do it.

There you go, that's my meltdown for the day.

Things weren't any more bodybuilding themed then, that is complete and utter tripe. How quickly you all forget (or more to the point, were not there). Around that time the guest feature was on and this place was a circus with way less moderation. The board was twice as spiteful and very difficult for new posters to get a word in. I only finally registered because whilst guests were both free to say whatever they want but treated like second class citizens on actual genuine posts.

The difference between then and now is that there is a fair bit more mediocrity from some members.

You have too many new guys and old guys a like trying to bash and be critical of every single little thing.. Not saying we shouldn't do that(as it's one of the good things about this place), but when you have so many fucking people going "epic" and "brutal" and bashing everyone left and right without any pic of their own, then it just hurts this place. Of course this doesn't mean we should kiss anybody's ass, but people need to cut down on some of this 'owned' nonsense. They're trying too hard to be like Squadfather.

i also feel that getbig lacks a theme nowadays. in 2003 it was getbig vs mayhem and the whole tom prince feud

in 2004 it was mower

in 2005 it was 240 and the original squad, sarcasm and mars before they added the wannabes and ripoffs

in 2006 it was adonis and his controversial views plus special ed's funny stories

2007 and the early part of this year lack a theme, unless you want to count team nasser

i say bring back guest posting (which is really just members logging out of their accounts

) and ban members who constantly post worthless threads like "stark"

I'm fairly good at tuning out to the nonsense on getbig, I almost always skip all three of these discussions mentioned. I seriously have no clue where this hate for stark has originated.

This post is outstanding, and so true. The impression I have from this board is that only 5% of posters here are genuine bodybuilding fans, and they are mostly concentrated on Dorian vs Ronnie debates.
