pollux, many guys have had great physiques. arnold had a fantastic chest, arms, ripped back, huge calves, and overall aesthetic and big physique, but when i look at him, i always say to myself 'wow... arnold' or something to that effect, lol. i do say that about other bbers too, but the guy has done so much, the rest of his life i'm sure plays a factor when myself and others look at him.

multiple time olympia and universe winning physique. even if he looked worse than he did, it's still an impressive resume, which would bump up his physique based on his comp history. maybe im wrong though.. just a thought. i still love the guy. :)

Some of these guys like to talk 'lazy' to translate to us commoners that what they do is 'no big thang' and is easy for them...you  know...to further distance themselves from us.

We know this is not so, and Arnie certainly knows this. That's why he destroyed ole Dex on stage   ;)

Its Tinkertoy pyschology

well arnold had been making jokes all night about how no-one could find bodybuilders in the audience because they were all selling stuff, like lou and autographs etc, so when dex said that he was like ' oh not again' download the comp from bb.com, and just fast forward it to the end. they talk about his training only taking an hour each day too, arnold was saying he did 3-5 hours a day :o

i'm a dex fan but he's an ignorant cvnt when getting interviewed  >:( really showed a lack of class.

Well, he was either clueless or arrogant...certainly not respectful to or of Arnold, and totally ignorant of marketing himself in a more humanistic light.

Would you agree that's what he did without me seeing the video (This computer I am on has no audio...I will get to one at my office that does Monday)

yes, i'd say he was more ignorant/clueless about how to portray himself, rather than trying to make arnold look bad, he's a fool, with his physique and a bit of charisma or just plain manners he would be much more highly thought of.

i recommend you download it and listen if you can.

I think Arnold was pissed off in general - Dex was just the icing on the cake.
Dex stuff wasn't bad at all on its own, but when you listen at Arnold's before-speech(puns left and right) and then Dex's interview it kinda fuses into "What shit has become of bodybuilding"...
...Arnold won't recover  :'(

He has, literally, moved on, but he was and still is an iconic figure in BB - partly the sport is his child. A child grows, changes and you grow and change with it - it's kinda one with you....
I think he doesn't like that it's a "shortcut" sport today, where physiques are more fugly than beautiful.
Additionally Dex's tongue in cheek comments weren't exactly on par with the attitude that a "champ" should display...
I bet Arnie was thinking "oh how funny Deksdder - you ineloquent, short, ugly turtle-fuck" to himself.

But, who knows.

I'd say your words likely ring true...and I don't believe Arnold likes to be invloved with anything or anyone who half-asses it or puts on airs

He hasn't much choice when the victor of his namesake show is, well...a dud

Arnold was owned by Ben when he asked him if he knew what was wrong with the American constitution. Of course Arnold knew what Ben was going to say. What a phoney!

Arnold has stated in print that he befriends only those who can help him achieve his goals. That is quite a limiting agenda. He doesn't have much time for the old gang anymore. Who would have believed Arnold would require bodyguards, photographers and stooges as an entourage at his own show?! I think he achieved too much fame. Probably not enough in his mind but his political office probably means more to him than all his titles and conquests.

i woudn't say dex's physique is ugly, i'd say its the finest in the pro circuit today, everything balanced and in proportion, with amazing conditioning and best of all no gut  8)
