This was the Dorian Yates era. Everyone during that era would be a Mr. Olympia today. Even those who placed way down the line.

Actually he had fewer flaws than any of the other BBs he was on stage with, including Yates-his back wasn't nearly as bad as claimed, that's a false assumption some continue to make. Plenty of width & taper, the back just lacked definition.

The rest of his problem was politics coupled with mediocre posing. He was physically superior to everyone else on stage.

Plenty of back width & V, as seen here.

Along with Oliva. In fair contests both would've had multiple Olympia wins & Yates, Haney, Columbu, etc. less.
