Yeah i have a few mates who are bouncers. Quite often they say they are something else completely, people just react badly when you say "I'm a bouncer"

For a guy trying to make it in boxing or bodybuilding or whatever, it can be a convenient job, all day to train, work at night and "use" your size.

But being a bouncer for 15 years?!

Like I said before, that quote by Arvilla was nothing to go bragging about. Threatening to beat someone down online...especially at 45 years of age.

I've done my share of dumb shit, but at least I was able to avoid assault convictions and managed to grow up and get an advanced degree.

Since everyone is sooo interested in my life .......................
went to college (College Of Boca Raton, degree in education) i taught middle school special needs (6th 7th and 8th grade) took a year off (years leave of absence) to move to Florida with a buddy ....spent all of our money to move with partying that summer,took a job bouncing to save up a little bit,got an assault with a deadly weapon (shod foot) conviction ,(guy broke his girlfriends nose in the club/threw him out...he was trying to get back in to get at the girl....."roughed him up a bit" lost my temper/threw him to the ground and kicked him) his girl went back with him and testified against me (felony conviction/can't ever teach again)
Stuck in the nightclub business (worked as a bartender,DJ, bouncer ....then eventually "managed" clubs)
became General Manager (great money) of Tantra Nightclub Saugus Mass (did after-hours clubs etc etc)

loved it!,Lotta good/fun times,....good with the bad tho ....(worked in a couple "strip-clubs) been stabbed,(more than once)had a gun pulled on me,Lotta fights,racked up a couple more Assault charges.....no health insurance........we had LL cool J at this place called The Palace i worked at ...full blown riot broke out/state cops tear gas etc etc ,worked biker balls..seen done a lot,we had a "Hip Hop after hours" with over 1500 people that regularly turned into a riot (until it got shut down)
..............all told probably worked in over 20 clubs between Massachusetts and Florida,met a lott of people (some friends for life) not exactly the direction i wanted my life to take but it is what it is(i wasted an education/degree)
i make no apologies for it/i do did the best i could,
still trying to make the best out of that situation everday...............

half of all teachers leave the field within the first 7 years, for one reason or another. I taught for 6 years before I couldn't take it anymore. Stuff happens. The skills you learn - organization, mgmt, professionalism, writing, etc that come with a teaching degree can be transferred to other fields pretty easily.

PS: a lot of bodybuilders are/were involved in the "club scene"
i worked with Paul Demayo at a niteclub in Salem Massachusetts (Scuttlebutts)
i worked with Mike Matarazzo's wife at a club in Salem Mass (Bleachers),that's how i got to know both of those guys(both were very cool guys) RIP Paul
Dave Palumbo visited our after-hours club at the Diplomat in Saugus Mass (more than once lol ...Dave likes a good party!)
