  • Time is luck.

Thought this thread could be a lovely counterpoint to the Romantic thing thread.

Well, it took you all of 2 secs to respond, which leads me to believe I should have put a $ amt on it, not a fraction.

How about if he made $25,000/yr?  If yes, why?

Yes, I'd still be w/him if he made $25,000/year.  He is a wonderful man and my best friend and we laugh a lot.  A lot!   :)

Think you'd still be laughing if you were worried about the mortgage payment about to spike (if you were able to buy a house), credit card payments, heath insurance payments (if you're lucky), car payments, meager retirement accounts?

wonder if there's any stats about how often poor people's marriages fail in relation to middle classers.

I would still be with him, because I WAS with him when he made 1/4 of what he does now.
Of course, we have alot more debt now, and it would suck bigtime if his income dropped by 3/4 now.  And it would definitely cause alot more stress and alot of problems, but I'd like to think that we could work through it.

Money and financial troubles are the biggest causes of problems in relationships, that much is true.

Many things in the above scenario wouldn't apply unless you're saying from the beginning he made $25,000 would I be with him.

The answer is yes.

I think I read somewhere that the top 2 things couples fight about are money and sex.

YES, sex too...money and sex.  I always forget about sex because I don't think I've ever had to fight about it.   8)

That's because one of you is accommodating the other.  More of a question of temperaments than perfectly matched sex drives.

Might feel a lot less accommodating if you were worried about something.

No one ever fights about too much money or too much sex. It's always about too little money or too little sex. Why is that?

Good luck explaining that to my penis when it's completely chafed.
