At what point in the relationship...
« on: March 20, 2008, 06:04:09 AM »
do you feel comfortable farting in front of the significant other? I recently spent the night at my gfs apt. In the morning, I felt a few brewing. I didn't feel comfortable unleashing in front of her. So, I went to the bathroom and let them fly. We've only been seeing each other for about a month. It just seemed too soon.

Good thread.

Imo, once she starts ripping them in front of you, you are free to do the same. :)

Farting on accident is one thing, but I think sometimes guys get too comfortable and just let them rip whenever they want.  They find it funny.  It's not.  I mean if you're laughing and one slips...that can be funny (if not humiliating, lol), but to just force them out for a laugh is not.  Not to mention they can sometimes smell bad enough to make someone vomit.  >:(
If you can make it out of the room to the bathroom you should do so out of respect.  Remember there is SHIT occupying the same space as that gas....and no one wants to smell it.  :-X

It is not okay to burp or pass gas anywhere in European public.  :)  Where did you hear that?

It is okay and expected, to burp in Chinese (and possibly East Indian) culture as an indication that you've enjoyed your meal. Also, slurping of soup is fine too.

Thin Lizzy... you probably could've broken the ice already, since most women are loving and understanding of such things.  Think it goes back to the animal world and scent marking of territory.  :D Hippos apparently spray their feces all over the place so guess we human females got lucky. My own personal motto has always been, okay for men to do it from day one, never for women.

I think slurping and chewing with the mouth open is also more repulsive.  Sitting through a whole meal with someone who is giving you a full view of their meat and potatoes getting masticated while they talk and spit at you is worse than the few moments of air poison.

Correction: WOMEN FART TOO!

My women does both (bitch and fart) and I don't have the energy to do either since I am gluten free! But her farts don't stink, they are very fruity most of the time and flowery all others (Damn Spirulina shakes). That said, I welcome the farts but the bitching has got to go!

HMIC

P.S. Is there some type of anti-bitching supplement she can start using? HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me of the time my Ex-mom in-law invited one of her friends over fromthe senior center where she she lives. This guy talked the entire evening and especially during dinner. He spit food everywhere and wiped his mouth with his fingers and also helped himself to the many dishes my Ex prepared using those same fingers nasty fingers. In addition to that my Ex In-law decides she is comfy enuff to re-adjust her dentures during dinner time; I almost puked at the table it was highly repulsive! Needless to say we did not eat the meal. Getting nauseated recalling the experience.

Very sick now HMIC!

This seems about right. I figure I'll give it to the end of the summer. If we're still together, I'm blasting away. :D

As natural as it is I think it is gross to fart/burp in front of people. Its simply not proper etiquette. In cave man days maybe, but come on now.
